I am surprised no one has mentioned this one already - the BBC article being about two weeks old

https://www.bbc.co.uk/...--SOBcvmTMgTsQ8ddXk/

The REFF (Spanish FA) are ruling that La Liga games should not be played on Friday or Mondays. The league has agreed to matches on these dates as part of the spread for the TV deal. The REFF are saying they are backing the fans in this (which means those actually at the games), as they find it more difficult to get to the games on days other than Saturday/Sunday. Upgrading the TV deals means more money for teams not called Barcelona and Real Madrid, so it is important to the League as a whole.
