West Cumbrian clubs Seaton Rangers and Ellenborough Rangers will be applying for membership of the NCL for the 2020 season.

Seaton are currently installing a pitch barrier as part of the application process.

Can't say as I blame them but who on earth are Distington going to play meaningful games with? Unless of course they decide to reapply.

For those who haven't been Ellenbrough (Elbra to the locals) is a super ground by any level of the conference's standards and well worth the trip.

(should they be accepted). Seaton is pretty tight and quite a small pitch from memory but provided their changing rooms are Ok I can't see why they wouldn't get in.

Nice modern clubhouse at Seaton, just below the pitch, on the site of the village's former railway station. I'm starting to think if Batley Boys can be accepted by the NCL, anybody can.

Seen suggestions Bentley (Yorkshire League) and North West League duo Dalton and Walney Central are pondering applications. Walney Central have played at NCL level previously. There are claims Seaton Rangers are to apply, as you say, but Cumberland League rivals Ellenborough Rangers won't because they don't have the required youth set-up.

Dalton currently only have a team in the Barrow and district league, but have already won this and do have a thriving junior set up.

The ground is terrific for any level of amateur RL, fully enclosed and railed, small amount of cover, clubhouse and floodlights. I have yet to see a game there but called in last season on the way back from Barrow Island,

If they could attract players of a sufficient calibre my guess is their facilities would easily pass muster.

Seen a claim there have been "six strong expressions of interest" though full applications have yet to be lodged "in the format required by the NCL".

The same source says the withdrawal of Salford City Roosters (formerly Eccles) "will not trigger an automatic replacement".
