The FA's list of accepted entries (in alphabetical order) is here: http://www.thefa.com/...ries---accepted.ashx

Newark Flowserve aren't on it. They, like Rylands, were one of the teams who the FA pulled out of last season's Vase just days before they were due to play their tie because their lights hadn't been erected by the cut off date. I haven't checked if they met the 1.84 ppg target but, assuming they did, I don't know whether they applied for the Cup or were denied entry for not competing in last season's Vase....which would really open up a can of worms.

Thanks for that. Flowserve were promoted to step 5 so PPG did not come into it.

Rylands have been accepted so even more worms!!

On a related issue Wythenshawe Amateurs qualified on PPG but did not enter the Vase last year so were denied entry to th
e cup. Proof positive there has been no change to the rule.

Harwich & Parkeston are new to both vase and cup....

Hi Dazzia.
Having ploughed through the acceptance list I can confirm 71 Step 6 clubs are in the Cup.

From your list Halstead (ES1S) had been omitted along with Barkingside (ES1S) and Shortwood (HIW) both of whom had been relegated from Step 5.

Frimley Green had of course been promoted and Lakenheath (ES1N), AFC Aldermaston (HIE), Wythenshawe Amats (NWCIS) and Kennington (SCE1) had not entered the Vase last year.

Three teams seem to have been omitted from the Cup in error. All played in the Vase last year and one has to wonder whether they are even aware of it.

The clubs involved are as under:

Holyport (HIW)
Corsham (W1)
Bewdley (WMP)

Three teams had an identical 36/70 record. The absence of Corsham was explained by arnold241 whist Radford had a better goal difference to Bewdley. Presumably this explains why they are in and Bewdley are not.

Holyport's record of 24/44 is, in fact, fractionaly below 1.84 thus explaining their absence

Or maybe they just didn't enter?

Yes you're quite right. Just a pity the FA scrapped the application list which was last issued for the 20172018 season.

By the way the figure of 71 was due to the number of Step 5 clubs accepted not PPG. Which shows the nonsence of the alleged 1.84 cut off.

I am not seeing Newark Flowserve in the Cup. Am I missing something or going nuts?

Newark Flowserve aren’t allowed to play in the FA Cup this season. They were booted out of the FA Vase last season, before it even started. The FA deemed that the club hadn’t commissioned the floodlights in time. The club say that they were commissioned in time. But this led to their non-entry into the competition for the very first time & so this has barred them from this season’s FA Cup.

Harwich & Parkeston have reach the FA Cup first round six times and the FA Vase quarter finals, so hardly new to either competition. Also for good measure they are former FA Amateur Cup finalists.

Watford FC supporter hence the name also follow Hull FC but rarely get to see either these days.

Have now visited over 800 grounds, progress in recent years has been rather slow and will continue to be as things stand.

The point is they played in neither last year, so the rule about having to have played in the vase the previous season is no longer applied

Yes you are quite right. The two you mention did not play in the vase last year but have been accepted for the cup yet four others in the same situation were rejected, (though I suppose it is possible none of them applied but I think it unlikely).

Then we have the Flowserve/Ryland situation. Both were ejected from the vase, without playing a match, but Rylands are in whilst Flowserve are out.

Five others, including Hillingdon, were also ejected/folded but Hillingdon did not reach the required PPG.

So does the rule still apply? Your guess is as good as mine.

Is the played in the previous seasons FA Vase rule aimed at new clubs to level 6.
I read the rule a few seasons ago and I'm sure it was worded that for a club to enter the FA Cup they had to have previously played in the FA Vase.
I think it is only in this seasons rules that it says (if it does) that a Level 5/6 club had to have entered the previous seasons FA Vase.

Anyone thinking of attending might want to check as Wellington website states that this game is being played at Cribbs but will still ‘be classed as our home tie’

Having read the reasons for this on Twitter, when that match is played next Tuesday it's going to be an extremely emotional occasion.

Unable to copy the tweet here as I'm at work; but it said that the Chairman's son who played for Burnham was killed in a car accident on Tuesday night.

I see that the FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round Replays that will be played on the Tuesday or Wednesday will clash with the 1st Round of the League Cup.

You'd think the FA and FL would get together to avoid these kind of clashed.

I can hardly think of a less important fixture clash. No team is eligible to take part in both of these stages of these competitions. If we start insisting that two completely different competitions can't be played on the same night we will never get a season finished.
