However the Truro fans genuinely are ecstatic about it!

Frank Lampard has been appointed Chelsea manager.
Phillip Cocu & his staff are flying out to Florida to join the pre-season training with Derby County & will sign his contract as soon as he lands later today.

I personally think it’s an upgrade. It’s like losing £5 & finding £20. Cocu did an excellent job at PSV Eindhoven & hopefully he’ll bring some quality young Dutch players over with him(that don’t cost EFL prices). He seemed to have been screwed over at Fenerbahce & it all went wrong for him. Mel Morris will allow him to build the club from the juniors through to the first team.

Seven managers since 2015 under this owner.

Darren was liked when he played for Doncaster and he has good managerial experience at a higher level. I'm always a bit weary of players/managers going back to a club, it doesn't always go well, I hope this return does go well.

With the squad he's taken on from last season, I will be expecting at least a play off place. The team needs a few tweaks, especially in defence, so hopefully Darren has some good contacts/mates in the PL and he can get some loan deals.

Four promotions to the top flight and an ability to keep relatively mediocre clubs competitive at that level, taking one of them to a cup final and into Europe. I bet Birmingham, Wigan, Sunderland and Hull wouldn't mind turning the clock back to his tenure with them.

Just a shame that this is now the level of Newcastle's ambition - survival and, if that fails, half a chance of getting back at the first time of asking.

Quote
Historically, Bruce is more likely to quit a job than be fired, with his exit from the Black Cats one of only three times he has experienced the sack - the other two occasions being at Huddersfield, his second club, in October 2000 and, 18 years later, Aston Villa.

He resigned at seven of his other clubs and on four of those occasions Bruce was named manager of another team within a week of leaving his previous employment.

Much as it pains me to say it, I thought he did a great job there.
I also think another season would have been better for his CV before applying for something higher, otherwise he may get the reputation of someone who doesn't stay long at places (remember Notts County too).
I wonder what's caused this? Has Macc's situation got worse, has he had a better offer? Time will tell.

If you're going to/been to a Hampshire Premier League match, I'd really appreciate you filling in a questionnaire - available in the Groundhopping/General section, or just PM me for a copy. Thanks.

As ever with these situations, you do wonder if he was only four games away from the sack, why he was given the whole summer with the players?

Happens every year and I never understand it.
