Malaga area trip Can't Post or Reply Privately

On Thursday 16th May I was on the 05:45 easyjet flight from Gatwick to Malaga. This season levels 3 & 4 started a week later than normal so the end finished a week later as well which was better for me.

On Saturday I caught the C2 Cercanias train from Malaga Mariana Zambrano station at 17:43 & paid 2.70 Euros to Pizarra which arrived at approx. 18:15. The ground is approx. 10min uphill walk with the last bit being steep. Before the game I had a wander round the small town.

Segunda Division Andaluz (Malaga) (Level 7)
Pizarra Club de Futbol 3 (37, 62 & 83, red for bench at h/t)
Asociacion Cultural Deportiva Sierra de Yeguas 0 (red 63 for coach)
KO: 20:00 Att: 145 h/c Cost: 3 Euros Saw no progs

Venue: Campo La Fuensanta, Calle Guadalhorce, Pizarra
I liked this scenic ground. Artificial pitch with 4 corner floodlight pylons. Main side has metal barrier & rail. Thereís a low roofed cover which goes just past the half-way line. Thereís 4 rows of green seats not quite reaching half-way line with a raised step of terracing in the middle. Also under cover is tiled flooring which included a snackbar with tables & chairs. The remainder of this side has h/s with a narrow raised step in front of a white & mustard coloured building with slight overhang. Behind are houses at a couple of levels & the rockface/hillside close by. Other 3 sides are railed with h/s although behind one goal is probably out of bounds which has a brown changing room building. In other corner is a small white building behind some nice flowers. Behind are houses bunched together at various levels. Other side has trees with the town below & mountains beyond. Trees behind other goal.

Match: 12th v 8th out of 16
Sun going down, breezy made it feel almost cool. Match started a fraction early despite a youth game finishing not long before ko. It was 2-3 with approx. 10mins to go & ended 7-3.
Good 1st half which PCF deserved their lead & it couldíve been more. The goal was from a well struck free kick. Strange incident on 41mins when SdY gk got hold of the ball & ran with it in his hands outside the box so a free kick awarded against him. A PCF player ran to the ball but got pushed over so 2 yellow cards to SdY. Shots 8-4.

H/t lasted over 18mins. PCF had shot saved after 42 seconds. Just after the 2nd goal SdY coach was sent off which saw a lot of arm waving for a quite a while on the sidelines. They nearly pulled a goal back but PCF got a late 3rd. 9 yellow cards. Shots 5-4.

The only train after the game is at 22:51 but no sign of it as time passed by. Woman in station cafe kept coming out. Finally it said 1 min but the train went thundering past. It finally arrived approx. 14mins late. Apparently it broke down I was told by these 2 Irish women who got on the wrong train as they were heading to Fuengirola. I advised them when to get off but not sure they made the last train or not.

Re: [pinewoodste] Malaga area trip [In reply to] Can't Post or Reply Privately

On Sunday I could do a double but I knew I would miss a few minutes of the 2nd game. It was just about worth me doing this IMO but typical that the 1st game of the day had the most injury time of the 4 games I saw & started the latest)

I caught the ALSA bus from Malaga which cost £11.58 Euros return (bought the day before) which arrived 15mins late at 10:15 in Antequera.

Primera Division Andaluz (Malaga) (Level 6)
Union Deportiva Torcal Club de Futbol 1 (76, red 92+)
Club Deportivo Atletico Marbella Balompie 2 (22 & 91+, red 77 for someone on bench)
KO: 10:45 Att: 35 h/c Cost: Free Saw no progs

Venue: Campo Ciudad de Antequera, Paseo Los Colegiales, Antequera
Short walk from bus station & next to the bullring which they still use for events & I also had a peek inside. Artificial pitch with 2 floodlight pylons each side. Conifers partly around 3 sides with other trees outside. Behind one goal for part of length is a blue & white changing room building. Behind is a nice property & a concrete 4 storey block of flats. Other 3 sides are railed. One side has blue h/s in front of low wall & fencing with road below. Views of buildings, floodlights of main ground & hillside with some houses lower down on it. Other side has 1 row of blue terracing which goes up in stages & near corner reaches 8 rows & this wraps round behind other goal & quickly goes down to 2 rows to the near goal post. This side has a 3 lane running track. Behind this goal is terracotta h/s with a small clubhouse which all the photos were of the main Antequera team as it appears their youth & womenís teams may play here.

Match: 5th v 4th out of 17
Sunny. One side was breezy which made it feel a bit cooler. Out of any breeze was very warm.
Decent 1st half which MAR shouldíve been further ahead. TOR had a couple of efforts late in the half. Shots 5-10.

H/t lasted under 15mins. Not such a good half football wise. MAR hit the bar from a cross & a header later went just over. TORís 1st effort this half saw a header for the equaliser. Red card on the bench for MAR followed. On 87mins MAR player landed heavily & he was injured. I thought this would be a long delay but players carried him the short distance off the pitch. In injury time MAR broke away & regained the lead with the ref looking at the lino almost waiting for the flag to go up. The goal stood & TOR players protested with one being restrained. 3 yellows & 1 red followed. The ref played 51:29 & I held off departing as there was a brief fracas but no more cards I saw. 9 yellows in this game as well. Shots 3-3.

Iíd checked the 800m route to the other ground & the side Iíd go in was the nearest but when I got there this side was closed so I had to go round the other side. A bit of running & I was inside the ground at 12:48 was advised it was already 2-1.

Tercera Division Grupo 9 (level 4)
Antequera Club de Futbol 6 (?, ?, 41, 63, 70 & 78 pen)
Guadix Club de Futbol 1 (?, red 57)
KO: 12:30 ATT: appro. 344 Cost: 12 & 10 Euros Saw no progs

Venue: Estadio Mauli, Calle Ladron de Guevara, Antequera
2 floodlight pylons each side. Low white wall & fencing around the pitch with high white walls around the ground. Only the main side was open which like all terracing here is painted green face-on. Thereís 6 steep concrete rows & straddling half-way line are 5 to 7 rows of green, white & blue covered seats. Opposite are 17 steep concrete rows with a rail at the back & houses behind. Behind one goal is steep brown grass banking. After the game I nipped in here to get photos of the main side. Behind are trees, properties & hillside beyond. Other goal has narrow dirt banking which rises in one corner. Behind are low blocks of flats & buildings with some still being built.

Match: 4th (already in play offs) v 21st out of 22
No breeze here & was hot. Sunny.
First thing I saw was a yellow card to GCF with a lot of protesting. That was it for 15mins. ACF then had shot saved with rebound blazed over from a couple of yards out. The GCF gk spilled a cross but defender helped him out. ACF scored a 3rd. Shots I saw 4-1.

H/t lasted over 16mins & the announcer was giving scores & updates from other games & listing the 72 play off teams & contenders. He continued after the game but was reading them out fast.
Goodness knows how GCF scored as they were abysmal. ACF couldíve got 10 with gk making some saves & an effort headed off the line. The 4th goal hit the post but hit the gk & went in. The penalty I thought was a dive. The usual red card which saw fans applaud the GCF player when he left the pitch. Shots 10-0.

After the game I had a wander round the town. Apparently they have been filming Warrior Nun (Iíd never heard of it) recently according to paper I saw.

I caught th 17:00 bus back which arrived on time back in Malaga at 18:00. Both journeyís it went past Malagaís ground & stopped very close to it on way back.

Iíd hoped do one more game on the Sunday.

Re: [pinewoodste] Malaga area trip [In reply to] Can't Post or Reply Privately

My 3rd game on Sunday was a revisit. I caught the C1 Cercanias train from Malaga Maria Zambrano station & got off at Los Boliches station in Fuengirola, cost 3.60 Euros. The ground is a shot walk away from the station.

Segunda Division Andaluz (Malaga) (level 7)
Union Deportiva Fuengirola Los Boliches 3 (6, 29 & 41)
Riogordo Club de Futbol 0
KO: 19:30 Att: 113 h/c Cost: 3 Euros Saw no progs

Venue: Estadio Santa Fe, Avenida de Las Salinas, Fuengirola

Match: 5th v 11th out of 16
Partly sunny as it went down. Soon got a bit cooler & slight breeze.
RCF put in a poor 1st half performance for their 3 english fans who follow them. FLB deserved their 3 goal lead. Shots 8-4.

H/t lasted under 15mins. FLB went close twice early on & that was it for them although at the end they got a 4th but it was ruled out. RCF had a couple of efforts as they put in a better half. Shots 5-6. 3rd out of 4 games I saw which had 9 yellow cards but no reds in this game.

My flight back on Tuesday at 23:50 departed early because the flight in was quick due to the tail wind. Obviously it meant it would be slow back but still arrived a few min early.

Cannot see me doing anymore games in England although I will be doing the 1st two days of the Island games which Iíll count as this season. The African Nations Cup UK (Iíve posted details in Summer leagues section) at the end of June which runs for 2 weekends Iíll count as 2019/20 season.
