Meanwhile, as a good example of getting the excuses in early, Southgate has blamed any failings in the Nations League finals on club successes in the Champions League

Oh dear Scotland. Thrashed by Kazakhstan.

Looks like they are already relying on that playoff spot...

Scotland were awful but San Marino's performance against Cyprus must be one of the the worst by a European nation. San Marino play Scotland on Sunday.

Really surprised at how poor Czech Republic are tonight. England look solid enough but opponents are awful.

I even think the Czech’s might struggle against Kazakhstan.

One positive for the Scots though, they are guaranteed representation at Euro 2020 - Hampden Park is being used in the finals.

Largely meaningless after MD2 nevertheless this is how qualification for the finals currently stands.

Group A: #%England and Bulgaria
Group B: %Ukraine and Luxembourg
Group C: Northern Ireland and #Germany
Group D: #Ireland and %Switzerland
Group E: Slovakia and Wales
Group F: #Spain and %Sweden
Group G: Poland and Israel
Group H: France and Turkey
Group I: Belgium and #Russia
Group J: #Italy and Greece
'League D' Play-Off: %Georgia v %Belarus, %North Macedonia v %Kosovo
'League C' Play-Off: #%Scotland v %Finland, %Norway v %Serbia
'League B' Play-Off: %Bosnia & Herzegovina v Czech Republic, #%Denmark v Austria
'League A' Play-Off: %Portugal v Iceland, #%Netherlands v Croatia

NQ include #Azerbaijan, #Hungary, #Romania
# = host nation % = guaranteed at least play-off

I have just received an email from the England Supporter's Club stating 'The Three Lions will be on the road again for their home qualifier against Kosovo'. Having struggled with this concept for a few moments I twigged that they meant it isn't going to be played at Wembley. It really is astonishing how London-centric some organisations are.

In Reply To
Surely it's more Wembley-centric, as every home qualifier since it re-opened has been played at Wembley Stadium.

I assume they'll play in the north, and maybe go for Anfield or SJP.

By north could you mean North London since Tottenham's ground should (I'm sticking my neck out here) be open by the time England play Kosovo

I think it's also fair to say that Tottenham will owe the FA a favour!

Does Goodison have the required grading for UEFA games played at international level?

Seems to be a rumour going round about Goodison Park hosting it. No idea if it's true.

@ Southampton.
