Dundee United Can't Post or Reply Privately

American businessman Mark Ogren has taken over at Dundee United. He seems to have other sporting interests in the US but at a minor level, baseball but outside the MLB, and hockey but outside the NHL,

Unless he is going to dig deep into his pocket, why take on a project such as Dundee United that requires huge investment to be able to compete with Celtic? I wonder what is reasons are and what his goals are for Dundee United.

You could be on to something. Maybe Mark Ogren has plans to merge Dundee United & Dundee FC and move the new club to Glasgow Laugh

I don't think he has any intentions of competing with Celtic.
Dundee FC are also owned by an American.
A merger of the clubs will never happen but it is possible that they could look at ground-sharing. Dundee are defibitely looking to sell Dens and move to a new venue at Camperdown. Maybe United will come on board as well. With the city's new artistic status and it's world-leading role in digital graphics technology, it could be ripe for a medium-sized Arena type stadium.
That would turn a profit, I'm sure. The JuteArena, The OorWullieDome or the PehPlace have quite a ring to them.

With artificial pitches now allowed in the Scottish Premiership then a shred stadium makes sense. Even with current grass technology a shared stadium would still make sense. I can't see a merger of the Dundee clubs, unless one of the clubs goes bust.

I guess a shred stadium makes sense in a city famous for marmalade
