8 and 7 - instead of one division of 15 - why do some leagues keep doing this? It'll only take one or two to resign mid season to throw this league into the Mickey Mouse Competition section.

There is a big gulf in quality between some clubs - hence why there are two divisions I think.
Rum Rooms Legacy vs Doncaster Deaf last season would have been a massacre along the lines of Australia-American Samoa.
Clubs would soon lose interest if they're on the receiving end of a few double digit defeats.

The 2017-18 season also ran with 15 teams, 10 in the Premier Division and 5 in Division 1. Before the beginning of the 2017-18 season there was 6 teams but Malt Shovel resigned before a ball was kicked. Teams in Division 1 played each other 4 times whereas the Premier Division played each other twice.

Two divisions were voted in for by the clubs.
As said above the gulf in quality is vast between top Prem teams and division 1 teams.

An open division was trialed in 16/17 and some of the scorelines were cricket scores, which isn't beneficial to either.

The league is having a Gala day on Saturday, all teams are playing their opening games of the season at Balby Carr College

An opportunity to watch 6 or 7 games in one day and at the same time. Haven't done that since I use to go to Doncaster racecourse on a Sunday morning and/or afternoon and there would be half a dozen games on at once every week.

I must be missing a website or two because the leagues own website seem to have been abandoned, nothing posted for several weeks and results/tables not updated since March, and there are two links on full-time, Doncaster Rovers Senior League only has up to the end of 2017-18 and Doncaster & District Senior League which is empty. Where are you getting this information from?

I manage a team in the league, the websites are not up to date unfortunately due to an issue with Full Time.

There is information on the leagues Facebook page, Sept fixtures etc....

It's on a private group you have to request to join.

The D&DSL is notoriously poor when it comes to an online presence.

Has anyone got info on the situation re- opening day's games they could copy & paste?
(I would have thought the Donny Senior League could do with being as public as possible at the moment, rather than keeping its fixtures secret!)

Well failing to publicise it, other than via a closed Facebook group, certainly "spreads the word". Crazy

It is very disappointing that D&DSL choose to operate in this way. An opening day festival with matches and other off field events on a bank holiday weekend would surely have made a good day out for families, even for those not going to watch the football but just for the other activities.

With Doncaster Rovers at home today against Portsmouth then moving the D&DSL open day to either Sunday or Bank Holiday Monday could have attracted a large attendance and raise a large amount of money for the league.

Doncaster Town at Keepmoat 4G disappeared , now we have White Swan Balby at Keepmoat Stadium, assume 4G ?

July 1, 2019 to June 30,2020 = 35 / 30/ 5/ inc 2 x 0-0's. (You know my rules) @ 11 / 08 / 2019.
2019/20. Benelux = Bel = 0-0-0-(0-0-0)-(0-2-3-2)/ Lux = 0-3 / Neth = 0-0-0-(2 - 2) Others France = 0-0 / Germany =0-0-0 / Italy =0-3/ Iberia = P = 0-1 & S = 0-1.

Disappointing that Dearne are playing at the college (presumably the 3g ?) and not the welfare ground in Goldthorpe,, although the cover there has long since been demolished.
Such is progress Frown

It seems as though this league has been downgraded a division in the pyramid. I previously thought it fed into the Central Midlands League, but it now appears as though it feeds into the S&H County Senior League.

DSL Premier Division clubs (like top division clubs in the Huddersfield and Wakefield leagues) will compete in the S&H Association Cup, while DSL Division 1 clubs will compete in the S&H Junior Cup.
