Ron Healey (Manchester City, Coventry City, Preston North End, Cardiff City) Can't Post or Reply Privately

Ron Healey has died after collapsing during a bike ride in Altrincham on Monday.

Capped twice for the Republic of Ireland, Ron began his goalkeeping career with Manchester City for whom he made 30 appearances. He had brief loan spells at Coventry and Preston before joining Cardiff in 1974. He made 216 league appearances for the Bluebirds before retiring from the game due to a pelvic injury at the age of 30.

Ron was playing in goal for Cardiff the first time I went to see them in October 1975.

Ron set up a football coaching business 19 years ago with his son Scott.
