have been given a licence for German Liga 3 but will play all their 2018-19 home games at MSV Duisburg however will not use the standing area behind the goal where MSV fans usually stand.

What happened to the old Uerdingen ground?
I remember watching them play at home to Hansa Rostock many years ago.
One of our party ended up getting separated from us and went into the away end. I don't think he ever quite recovered from the raucousness of the Hansa ultras. When we found him after the game, he looked like he'd been in a mosh pit.

Sorry Barbie missed your question. Afraid the ground not up to the standard required for Liga 3. They will now be working on it. Never been there and had been looking forward to it.

Thanks Tim. That surprises me because I'm sure it was a 2 Bundesliga game. I assume standards have changed in the intervening years....and maybe my failing old age memory is playing tricks on me.

Grotenburg-Stadion hosted 1.Bundesliga games as late as 1996. When I went in 1988 the attendance was over 30000. As you say, standards have changed, but it does seem strange that the place has been allowed to fall behind to such an extent that it now can't even meet 3.liga requirements which are not particularly onerous.
