Relegated from the Championship is their first relegation in 41 years. That is a remarkable record.

If they'd stayed up, next season would have been their third season in the Championship so would the stadium have to have been made an all-seat venue?

So maybe there's a silver lining ...

Just because you're paranoid, it doesn't mean they're not out to get you.

IIRC they're allowed 3 seasons, so it would have to be at the end of that period.

I thought it was an ill thought statement by Nigel Clough saying how the club have had a great adventure against some big teams when Burton are really a non league club.

"To take this club to some special places, when really what we're used to is non-league, has been great."

I'd agree with him.

The correct quotation on your part is appreaciated but doesn't hide the fact that it is a long time since Burton played at that level and so are hardly used to to non-league football.

But in fairness that's where Nigel Clough started with them so his perspective is understandable.

His nickname in these parts is ‘Nonleague Nigel’. Unfortunately it’s not a compliment!

I don’t think he did a bad job at Derby.

He saved Sheffield United from relegation to League Two and took them as a League One club to the semi-finals of both the League Cup and the FA Cup.

Notwithstanding his achievements, some Blades fans seemed to have an almost pathological hatred of him. Something for the psychiatrist methinks.

I am no psychiatrist, but it seems to me that Colin was a much better fit with the underlying culture down Bramall Lane way.
