Right I'm posting this thread and to be honest not really asked if gets deleted or locked !
Why do support or vote for a party, and what got interested in politics to start with
Myself, around 1998 I became interested in politics, I am proud Tory voter and support of Brexit, in last few days I myself been attacked for right wing views, but I considered myself to be moderate right wing voter,
I support the tories because they want people to work hard and be successful,

You're a Tory this week are you? You seem to flit between them and UKIP on a regular basis.
Not sure how you can be moderate and right wing.
Personally I'm a Labour supporter who doesn't like Jeremy Corbyn much, but would never even think about voting Tory.

I've voted for most parties over the years.

Unfortunately all parties are wrong in some respect and all parties lie most of the time.

No party has a solution currently we need some new parties and new thoughts not entrenched left / right wing views and political backhanders between left and right.

People are disillusioned because the chattering classes (politicians at all levels local to Europe) ignore them.

Democracy is withering on the vine, but maybe that's what our leader want.

If i remember rightly. You were one of a small Clique on this forum who support Brexit but when Questioned couldn't come up with seeing any benefits on leaving. I think the Tory party are the best party to vote for if you are Rich and wealthy. Says it all really.

In your own inimitable way, Gareth you ask some pertinent questions.

Imo most well rounded individuals are able to create their own politica persona by pulling together aspects of both left and right wing solutions to life's problems.

Like you I like to encourage individualism and entrepreneurialism. Having been self employed most of my working life and risked my capital and my time to create wealth for myself and my family.

However, I also believe it's right that society pools together to support and improve the lives of people with difficulties and challenges.

The differences are often on the scale of that assistance and the degree to which the State controls our lives and to which we are free to set our own agenda.
I've never been one for the politics of envy and detest the attitude of trying to bring everyone down to a low common denominator.
My dad was a Socialist Worker Party member and I was often out delivering IS ( International Socialists) leaflets etc, but all I took from that is that many political extremists are nasty bastards and to keep well away! ( not my Dad, obvs, he was more fervent than anything else)
Anyone who aligns themselves religously to any political party is probably a moron and not worth debating politics with.

It's funny that all these Socialists that want to spend your money for you will happily revert to selfish mode if they get a windfall !

That's exactly what TroubleatMill said. Most left wing racism is directed towards Jews at the moment.
They seem to think that Jewish people in this country are responsible for atrocities committed by the Israeli army or government.

First General Election voted in was 92.
Voted most parties in past.

Next Election, who knows, don't trust Tories with NHS, Don't trust current Labour with economy, Liberals don't trust who'll they'll get into bed with. etc etc.

We need new ideas, new parties.

I used to be a Tory. A real Thatcherite!

When Maggie was usurped and I began properly studying U.K. politics, I became apolitical in extreme, rating all politicians as being in it for personal aggrandisement and nothing else.

Then Corbyn came to the fore and truly impressed me, to the point that I became a Labour Party Member a year ago.

As opposed to the inane guff published in the mainstream media, my deeper political learning allowed me to see through that mythology, smoke and mirrors, to realise just how very suicidal is the Tory agenda, especially with respect to austerity & brexit and then by comparison, how sensible, steady and measured is the Labour manifesto.

The only gripe I have is Labour's so far refusal to embrace cancellation of brexit... but that may yet change.

It's time we ended Government that diverts our money and state borrowings into their pals' deep pockets and instead, put those monies and borrowings into the NHS, Police, Fire Service, etc. and into projects designed to create jobs and stimulate our flaccid economy.

It's far beyond time to wrest control of the dwindling economy from the hands of the present wanton shower and give it back to the historically proven party of fiscal responsibility - Labour.

Professional cretin.
