A poisoned World Cup? Can't Post or Reply Privately

Not sure if this is the correct section to discuss this but could England's participation in the upcoming World Cup in Russia be in jeopardy after the recent events in Salisbury?

Highly unlikely. What Boris appears to have been trying to say, as incompetently as ever, is that ministers, etc, might not attend England games. Since this typically occurs in the later stages of tournaments the question is largely academic anyway.

Same old question which is usually aimed at Olympic participation. If England withdrew then FIFA would just ban England for a number of years and UEFA might also do the same, which would be a bit of a kick in the goalmouth for the FA since they would then be stripped of the Euro2020 semi finals and final.

Honestly now...hands on hearts...who on here actually really gives a shit about the World Cup?
Nope, not me, if I had any hair I would be definitely washing it when it is on so instead I shall be bingeing on West Wing again.

I do and am travelling to Kaliningrad for a brief taste of the competition. Love the World Cup.

I'm with Hoddy and Paddy on this one.

Despite the fact that England always disappoint. Unsure

I agree. I'm a football fan and there is sod all other footie to watch in the summer so I'll probably have it on in the background but I certainly don't care if politicians attend games. In fact, the main reason I put it on the telly is nostalgia. I just wish I could find a way of making the commentary all tinny and crackly.

Me too, although I don't expect us to get any further than the quarter finals, and that may be a stretch.
