Margin debt, that is borrowed monies to invest, is now reaching levels that we have never before seen.

With the Stock Market trading at record levels driven by Margin Debt are we due for a correction?

If it does happen this year then I expect the correction to be massive and will dwarf what was seen in the dot com bubble and housing bubble crash of 2007/08

Just a heads up everybody.

No it doesn't.

Its purely a financial statistical querk.

When margin debt reaches the level its at now , historically it has presaged massive movements in the financial markets.

That would explain the ? . It may or may not happen.

In human terms it can best be described as fear following greed.

In April the minimum contributions for workplace pensions goes up quite a bit. Presumably this will mean hundreds of millions of extra pounds needing to be invested somewhere, such as equities.
