Mossley will observe a minute's silence in memory of Vinny Garmory before their New Year's Day game with Tameside rivals Droylsden. Garmory, who died on December 28th at the age of 59, was a member of the Lilywhites squad that won the NPL championship and NPL League Cup in 1979, and topped the NPL the following year. He made 247 appearances for Mossley, scoring 27 goals. Earlier in his career, Garmory captained Manchester City's youth team. After serving Stalybridge Celtic and Curzon Ashton, two other Tameside clubs, Garmory relocated to Market Deeping, where he worked as a civil servant.
