Thanks to a late heads up from Old Knut and a couple of cancelled work appointments I ended up at this 12pm ko:-

Lincoln C 1 Preston NE 6
EFL Youth Alliance Cup F&N att 30ish

An unexpected new venue for me, the Priory City of Lincoln Academy on Skellingthorpe Rd LN6 0EP. The entrance is down the road along the right hand side of the college where there is a small car park. It's a typical college sports field, three football pitches, a rugby pitch and all weather facilities. This game was on the far pitch behind the now closed Monson Arms. No spectator facilities or refreshments as far as I could of see.

Preston looked the better side throughout, leading one nil at half time having had two disallowed. Three goals in the first ten minutes of the second half, two down to calamitous defending, gave PNE an unassailable lead. They subsequently added two more, with the hosts getting one themselves between goals five and six.

Pegasus Juniors 3 Lydney Town 1

Old School Lane: Midland Floodlit Youth League Southern Division

Having enjoyed a flurry of home fixtures during October and November, Pegasus Juniors were playing their first home fixture this evening for over a month, as they entertained opponents that had only played four league fixtures themselves so far this term. The hosts came into this evening's fixture in fourth place in the Southern Division table after enjoying a 2-1 away victory at Bishops Cleeve in their previous outing at the end of November. Lydney Town were two places behind the Hereford club but still held an unbeaten record from the league fixtures they had played this season but suffered a 4-0 home League Cup defeat at the hands of Stourbridge three weeks ago. Pegasus Juniors broke the deadlock in the 16th minute when they broke quickly from their own half and a cross from the right flank was neatly controlled and dispatched past the Foresters' goalkeeper. The hosts doubled their lead three minutes after the interval courtesy of a volley from the edge of the Lydney Town penalty area that flew through a crowd of players. The Hereford club seemed to have sewed-up the points seven minutes later from a corner on the left but the visitors did not give-up easily during the remainder of the match. Their consolation strike arrived in the 71st minute from a 25 yard free-kick that beat the home custodian at his near post.

Wessex Lge Div 1

US Portsmouth 3-1 Folland Sports
Admission 6 incl prog
Att: 40 (h/c)

Very comfortable win for the home side who if they put their minds to it could have scored double against a very poor Follands side.

Plenty of local hoppers in attendance as well as Andy FTM.

Come the end of the season USP and the positions at the top, may regret only winning by 2.
