That comment Gareth shows your youthful immaturity; lack of knowledge; no understanding and bigotry. If you had been around in the late 60s and early 70s you would have lived in a completely different world to the one you are in today. Clifford was just part of what existed at the time.
On hearing of his conviction, many would have said : "There for the grace of God go I"

Agree with Windy.

Whilst some things are 'of the time' such as an old episode of Fawlty Towers, which wouldn't be allowed today. Rape and sexual assault really can't just be put down to being 'something they did back then'.

There is no suggestion John Cleese should be charged with insighting racism historically, because that was of a different time. However, Max Clifford got what he rightly deserved.

I am totally with Gareth on this one. Apart from the fact he is (Was) a convicted sex offender, he was an odious arrogant individual, who made a fortune at the expense of others misery.

If ever a gravestone deserves to be defacated on it is his.

Rot in hell.

If you want some more intelligent comment on Max Clifford, there's a good article on the BBC Website.
If however you just want 'He's a scumbag, rot in hell' stick with this thread!
Sorry I can't post hyperlinks since I switched to Windows 10.

I am guessing this is the piece you refer to
http://www.bbc.co.uk/...inment-arts-42310431

You can copy the link from the address bar and then manually type in before it, the letters url in square brackets
You then have to repeat the with /url in square brackets after the link

If you switch to basic editor, then the url links can be found below the typing window

He only escaped a rape sentence, because the law wasn’t as strict when he actually assaulted those girls & young women. I’ve got a daughter & if a 34 year old man had sexually assaulted her when she was 12. I’d be doing a long stretch right now, for my actions against him. I’m just confused why you think the newspaper article is somehow more intelligent than this thread?

If basic editor is that silly little box, then that is the only option I have now. Before I switched to Windows 10 I could type in a full screen as well as post hyperlinks. I think I tried clicking on the url button on the little box once but to no avail.

Just thought I'd try Leo's way, obviously works.

I can post clickable links normally on I E 10 but can't use the rest of things ( bold, underscore etc ) without using closed brackets.

Any easy info anybody about finding and resetting basic editor ? Cant find it using Leo's directions.

Capital punishment was abolished in this country, partly as a result of several miscarriages of justice, which resulted in innocent people being executed. Timothy Evans was one of the main victims of this.

Do I want to live in a country where we execute people? No I don't.

Re: [garethwrexy] Max Clifford [In reply to] Can't Post or Reply Privately

But Gareth - are you really an advocate of hanging people for offences that fell short of rape prior to a law change in 2003?
[I must say that I am not totally clear of what that means, and I would prefer it not to be a subject of discussion on here].

Assuming guilt, (and I do assume that as he was convicted, even if he was still intending an appeal at the time of death), then it is clear that his offences were serious and may have damaged the life of his victims - but they were still living. As so, even if we were to bring back the death penalty, then surely it is not appropriate in this case.
