Not at all - it's directly about their history as non-league.

I could understand their fans thinking they've done non-league a favour - big crowds going to small clubs on their way up the pyramid and an interesting story to tell people who are not into non-league.

fans of phoenix clubs do seem, to me, to see their club as 'too big' for the first few leagues they play in

Do YOU not think theY're arrogant?

Who - the club and officials? the players? the fans?

I don't think much about them at all in fact - they're not my club and they've never bothered me in any way.
Maybe if I was a Kingstonian fan I'd feel different...but I'm not.

I still don't know what you mean by saying that they feel that non-league owes them something; do you ?

Thought I'd raise my head above the parapet.

The Wimbledon fans I know and go to games with speak very fondly of our days in non-league; both in the amateur days and since the creation of AFC. The warmth of non-league clubs, terracing, swapping ends at half time etc. League football has its bonuses of course, but many Wimbledon fans loved the CCL days and experiencing new clubs during the rise.

I'd have thought the more arrogant ones were club that have come down from the Football League to non-league. A certain team in North Wales springs to mind.

Let's not let the thread degenerate. Please respond to the posts, rather than comments on any posters record on other threads. I agree with the later who days that when in non-league, AFC fans did not tend to arrogance out a belief that the non-league game owed them anything. There was a powerful sense of injustice. Currently, I do believe some fans overestimate their club a a power for good and have a one sided view on some incidents where the club could be criticized.

Clubs that have dropped out of the football league appear to be more arrogant with the feeling they are too good for the level they find themselves at. This was true with the social media comments of some fans at my own club. We, of course thoroughly deserved to be relegated, and the return had to be earned

Re: [garethwrexy] AFC Wimbledon [In reply to] Can't Post or Reply Privately

Besides supporters of some, but certainly not all, relegated clubs, you can encounter arrogance from certain reporters of nouveau riche clubs, at least until the money runs out, when those fans disappear.

As Leo hints, the problem with many "fans' clubs" is the hypocrisy when many of their supporters find it incomprehensible that anyone can disagree with their actions or objectives, rather than arrogance. For example, AFC Wimbledon happily buying and selling Kingstonian's former ground, while being formed from the injustice of being forced out of their own home town, or FC United having protests when away games are rearranged, but amending home games for TV money or because Manchester City are at home and expecting visitors to fall in line.

For what it's worth, I have never seen any signs of arrogance from Wrexham supporters, and have always found the Racecourse a welcoming place to visit.
