That's quite a resignation statement from Jo Johnson.

There can't be any wheels left on the Brexit bandwagon.

Something remainers and leavers can agree on - the negotiations by the British Government have been a catastrophe

I would have thought a garland of barbed wire, with the slogan "Keep Out" to be more appropriate.

This might be better.

I need to have the last word as it makes it look as if i'm always right!

Politicians of all parties at Westminster seem to be in competition as to who are the most utterly useless and clueless.

To be fair, the SNP has consistently opposed the Tory desire to drag Scotland out of the EU against its wishes.

There are times when the SNP appears to be the only true opposition at Westminster.

The irony being that they, who appear to know how to act as an effective party at Westminster, don't want to be there.

I believe history is on my side and doubtless you the same.
I can only see disagreement and fragmentation ahead for the EU.
...

Today we have a World connected globally in a way never seen before. For Europe to have a say on a global scale, we need to speak with one voice, which will then be a big voice that China, USA and Russia.

I believe a European entity between countries who share common values and aims is the way forward. This doesn't eradicate the "national state" but it might redefine .....

Salvini is a divisive guy. Some see him as an Italian saviour, unafraid to stand up to the EU bullies.

Some see him as just a contrarian, following the Trump ‘anti-establishment’ playbook all the way to power.

You’ll probably have your own opinions on the man.

But here’s the thing:

Whatever your views, the EU don’t help themselves.

French finance minister Bruno Le Maire, talking to the Handelsblatt this week, said that Europe must become a “form of empire, like China and the US”.

“I am talking about a peaceful empire, based on the rule of law. I use the term to sharpen awareness that we are going into a world where power matters. Europe should no longer shrink from deploying its power.”

Power…

Rule of law…

Empire…

It’s not a smart way to talk given the situation, and it just fuels Salvini’s narrative that Brussels is the bad guy.

Meanwhile this week, the President of the Ifo Institute for Economic Research, Clemens Fuest, said:

“The idea that Brussels can enforce European rules against the will of a national government is an illusion.”

On one side an “empire”, on the other Salvini. A political battle that neither side can really afford to lose.

There’s only one way this can end.

When the minister who brokered the Brexit deal resigns because the Brexit deal is unacceptable you know the Brexit omnishambles which every sane person had predicted has well and truly arrived.

The only solution is a People's Vote to extricate the UK from the mire created by Cameron and the Brexiteers.

Traffic police are asking people not to rubber-neck the Conservative Brexit car crash.

Sky poll

Of the three Brexit outcomes Theresa May says are available, would you prefer a) her deal, b) no deal or c) no Brexit?

No Brexit 54%
No deal 32%
Her deal 14%
