Post 21 was incorrect. My bad. It's the new rugby pitch that has the overlap with the old Pilks pitch. The new footie pitch doesn't overlap with anything previously used.

I saw them on the pitch closest to Ruskin Drive, immediately on the right as you enter the complex. I assume Windle use that pitch as well, or the one adjacent.

So does the new rugby pitch overlap the old football pitch or the old rugby pitch?

Both. It's been shifted a bit to the north east in order to make room for the new stand on the football ground and a wide path between the football ground and the rugby ground. This pitch shift means that the new rugby pitch covers about 25% of the old Pilks football pitch and probably 80% of the old rugby pitch.

Windle do indeed play on the pitch nearest Ruskin Drive (see WDYG for yesterday). Sighs of relief all round? The entrance next to the pitch is no longer in use.

Visited venue for RL as mentioned in match report by Andy.

Changing rooms are being completed with a rear entrance to the football pitch. The half time hospitality may be in a separate facility beyond the stand. The after match entertainment is to be in the existing club which has been up dated. No real ale evident and many of the photos missing. The character of the pavilion has changed with the outside having a modern look except for the upper part.

Spectator facilities are on 3 sides and the perimeter fence around the pitch are now all the same height.

Ruskin Park rufc appear to be using the existing changing rooms next to the pavilion whilst the other changing block will remain for 2 grass pitches. Both the grass and plastic facilities were being used for a tournament which was well attended.

Possibility that next Thursdays game may not be at the new ground. Saw Bob Haigh last night at Windle Labour and he had been redirected from Ruskin Drive. He commented that work was still in progress on the changing facilities so anybody planning a trip should check before travelling.

Windle Labour played at Bobbies Lane last night.

Just had a text from someone who went to say that Abbey Hulton were about to take a last minute penalty when the lights went out due to them being on an automatic 10.00 curfew.
Revisit for everyone ? Tongue

Unclear at this stage if it was actually abandoned - the league website has it as a result, Hulton's Twitter says they're unhappy (in response to a congrat on getting 4 points from 6) and St Helens Twitter says nothing.

Late arrival, traffic problems.

Been over 3 hours as I edit and not one of the many who went have posted.

Tram was going so one to revisit, bet he's fuming.

Result still on League website, it really cannot count , getting ready for a last minute pen (95 min on some tweets) and this happens =

''Apparently lights are on a timer that couldnt be overridden. Went out at exactly 10pm. AHU arrived late due to m6. Ko at 8:10. Surreal''
