Or is it a new stadium as it's on the site of the old one?

''WORK is under way on levelling and then raising the ground at Meadow Park as Gloucester City aim to end their 10-year exile.
After a protracted battle, the club were granted planning permission for a return to the ground they had to leave after it was flooded in 2007.''

Planning documents: http://planningdocs.gloucester.gov.uk/...custref=14/00685/OUT

The pitch will be about 12' higher than previously.

By my reckoning the area of raised ground would be a minimum of 50,000 cubic metres and quite possibly significantly more adding access and surrounding area. Assuming there are repeat floods, where is that 50,000 cubic metres of water going to go to?

Still an overlap then Smile

I remember when I worked in the area before the ground was built in about 1985 the locals were worried by the water displacement the ground would cause.
