Thames Valley Football League Can't Post or Reply Privately

Anyone have any idea when constitution and/or fixtures for the Thames Valley League are likely to manifest themselves. They appear to be one of the last.

There's nothing on Full time and I've tried a number of websites of member clubs but nothing.

Woodley United reserves, rebranded as Woodley United Royals
Unity rebranded, (merger?) as Wright & Unity Sports
Rotherfield United & Hurst relegated
Westwood United promoted
plus Wokingham & Emmbrook reserves - no doubt someone will say where they played last season

Division One increases from 11 to 13
Rotherfield United & Hurst replace Westwood
Mortimer Reserves and AFC Corinthians relegated
Burghfield, Westwood United reserves promoted
Richings Park new

Wokingham & Emmbrook Res finished 2nd bottom of Division Two East of the Hellenic last season with 11 points G/D -46 from 22 games, they only avoided bottom place on goal difference. Though to be fair Henley Town did withdraw mid season and they would have been down there with them.

A good case then for Wokingham reserves and Richings Park to swop places?

Interesting to see that Finchamptead, playing in Hellenic East last season have gone down to Division One, thus dropping from Step 6 to Step 8.

Thought that they might be treated as a relegation and go into the Premier, but perhaps they are a new team and have to start from scratch.

Re: [Rebel Yeller] Thames Valley Football League [In reply to] Can't Post or

At one point their manager and some of the team were going to Henley, but I don't think that happened in the end. When that was happening the club basically did away with the 1st team so in effect the reserves become the 1st team.

Indeed - so Wokingham & Emmbrook Reserves who finished second from bottom of Hellenic Division Two East last season with just 11 points and only avoiding bottom place by goal difference, are placed in the Thames Valley Premier Division, but Finchampstead who actually finished a brilliant 4th place in Hellenic Division ONE East are placed in Division One.

Makes perfect sense

Finchampstead's ground was not suitable for Step 6, so the club had to fold their first team. Thus their reserve team became their first team, and they finished 3rd in Division Two and got promoted to Division One.

They didn’t HAVE to fold their first team! Have you actual confirmation that that is what they have done?

Just because you’re ground doesn’t meet the grade doesn’t mean you just fold your team. Usually you just drop down normally. You know, like any normal club taking voluntary relegation/demotion. Like Purton have done this season.

Can’t see why they’d want to drop any lower than the TV Premier Division to be honest! I guess they had their reasons

This is from their official website:

Quote
Finch First Team sad news 10 May, 2017
Following the FAs requirements for certain facilities to be put in place at every Step 6 ground, regrettably Finchampstead FC has had no alternative other than to fold the First Team since the club is unable to provide the required facilities.

The consequence is that the current first team including manager coach and players have moved to Henley Town and the Finch reserve team who play in the Thames Valley League will become the Finch " first " team.
Finchampstead remains a thriving club with over 30 teams at youth level and will continue to play at the Memorial Ground.

Clearly they could've dropped down to TV L Prem. I guess they've chosen not to because the team were going to leave
