Most consecutive games scored in Can't Post or Reply Privately

I'm sure this has been mentioned on this site before, but I'm struggling to find the thread so apologies for repeating....
I've just reached the stage in writing up the history of Braintree Town where I've got to Gary Bennett scoring in 22 consecutive competitive games in 1997-98 (30 goals). At the time the club was trying to establish if this was a British record and got encouraging noises from the Guinness Book of Records. Jaundiced Hack then told me of a Taunton Town player who had topped that, so we dropped the research.
I'd like to hear about other such feats so that the best of them can be featured in the book for comparison purposes. Can anyone help with their recollections?
Many thanks

Bristol Downs league Division 3 - season 1938-39 -

100 LEAGUE GOALS IN A SEASON
102 Les Farley (Upper Horfield Old Boys) 1938-39
this amazing feat shows that Farley only failed to score in one League match all season, and scored at least a hat trick on 21 occasions -

Hi Jon

I knew off the top of my head that Alan Banks had a purple patch for Cambridge City in 1962-63: The records show that he scored in 23 consecutive appearances for City that season, 36 goals in that run. Those 23 games covered Southern League, Southern League Cup, FA Cup, East Anglian Cup, Cambs Professional Cup, Hunts Premier Cup and finally a friendly and a benefit game. We can debate whether the last two are "competitive" or not. Overall 49 goals in 40 appearances in 62-63.

Will trawl through my City records to see if anyone else gets near to this - might take a while!

Thanks to you both for your replies. Farley's record is very impressive, although I note that he only scored in 18 consecutive games.

I saw a Tweet at the end of last congratulating a player for scoring in every game for the second season running. Sorry can't remember who it was or from, it might ring a bell with someone else. It was at a lowish level but not right at the bottom.

Eat 10 a day, you know it makes sense.

Hi Jon,

I think it was a Tiverton Town player who had the long run of goals.
Will check in my book later.

Kerry
