I'm not trying to start an argument, but why not wait until the TV games are released before buying hotel rooms/ train tickets etc? That's what I do at least.

They always put on a couple of League One/Two games on international weekends, due to lack of Championship games. Oops.

You can change them for a tenner each (plus any price difference in advance tickets).

TBH As Villa v Brentford was midweek did not think about it being affected by TV. As it was when I checked for rooms in Birmingham that week many were sold out, presume some event is happening so jumped in for cheap rooms at Perry Barr, about a mile from Villa ground. As it happens despite saying no changes allowed we have managed to switch the rooms to the Wednesday night at no extra Charge Smile

Or in this case more to do with that fact that the Virgin Trains Sale finished BEFORE the date the TV games were due to be an announced

Not surprisingly the two stand-out ties in the League Cup 2nd round are the ones chosen by Sky for live TV coverage:

Tuesday 23rd August - Burton Albion v Liverpool
Wednesday 24th August - Accrington Stanley v Burnley

And this the reason why never subscribed to Sky Sports. Even when Doncaster Rovers were in the Championship they would only get one, maybe two live games per season, and that was probably because Sky had to show every Championship side at least once. Sky Sports favour certain clubs when it comes to live EFL games.

That is very true. Leeds who haven't had any massive dramas on the pitch at the top or bottom in years get plenty of games, whereas teams involved in the relegation battle get barely any attention. I want to watch games that have something riding on them, not games between Leeds and Wolves stuck in mid table just because they have large fan bases. Long and short of it is that Sky have favourites unfortunately.

Of course they do. They need the viewer base to push to advertisers. Is it any wonder why Leeds United v Wolverhampton Wanderers would be a more attractive proposition than say (from last season) Rotherham United v MK Dons?

Why do you think every Manchester United FA Cup game for years (over a decade I think) has been on Live TV, even when they're at home to a lower division side? Bums on sofas, or on barstools.

That's true but, for some reason, Peterborough currently seem to be media darlings in the lower leagues. Barry Fry's surely not that big an attraction? Wycombe also seemed to crop up on TV a disproportionate number of times when Sky's Alan Parry was involved with them...

So days the Tranmere fan whose side will have been live on BT Sport four times this season by the second weekend in October. Wink

The Beeb don't need to pander to advertisers but they still show live Man Utd FA Cup games. This Man Utd thing dates back to about 2005.
