Their manager wants promotion to the Kent Invicta league next season. ( Difficult).
He says he needs a top five finish. (inaccurate).
If they were promoted it would break 3 set in stone rules.
I don't think they applied.
Only one team can be promoted from a step 7 league and i think Snodland have already been recommended.
They would also be entering a ground share to get promotion.

In spite of the above it would not surprise me in the least if they end up in the SCE Division One next season.
Rules seem to be becoming just a suggestion.

Or is it just a gee up thing before the season end? A.C. London apparently said they did that and have "now withdrawn their promotion application". I guess they can do that.
Snodland's stand is up but I still think their chances are shrouded in mystery.

I must be honest in all the years i have followed football i had never noticed before that they can not spell their own name.

It's a bit unfair to blame the club. If you look at Google Maps you will find that there is a Stansfeld House in Bermondsey (which is where I believe the club originated), while the only examples of Stansfield are across the Atlantic in the US.

So you think whoever built this Stansfeld House got it wrong?

There must have been a Stansfield in this country at some time for the surname to have originated there.
Lisa Stansfield and Gracey Fields (real surname Stansfield) both come from Rochdale so probably in the North West.
My next door neighbour is also a Stansfield and he is a northerner too.
Stansfeld is presumably a German, possibly Jewish surname.

The club was founded by John Stansfeld.

Interesting character.
I always wondered why there was Oxford in their name.

Stansfield was a township near Todmorden, which was (at one time) in the parish of Rochdale.

I looked it up & it means Stone-field & there are various versions of the name.
