Posting Protocol - new posters start here   or Reply Privately

The objective of having a posting protocol here is to keep the number of threads manageable, and keep down the number of open threads.
I am re-issuing this to bring it to posters' attention, there are no changes to the protocol

Except in exceptional circumstances, the "where are you going" threads are limited to three weeks in advance of the game.

Normally, we have
One thread for Saturday games
One thread for Sunday games
One thread for midweek, Monday through to Friday
Public holidays (except Christmas day) have their own thread

A day by day thread can be introduced to announce changes to fixtures - this is used mainly for postponements, but can also cover
changes in kick off times
changes in venues
sudden imposition, or removal of all ticket regulations.
warning that a game is subject to a pitch inspection (with inspection time if known)
information of the result of an inspection, whether game on or off
During periods of very bad weather (generally meaning more games off than on, at least in some regions), then a matches on thread may be created, if a match is shown as on, but is later found to be off, please add the information to both match on and match off threads!

Fat AND Pompous.
