Friday 10th and Sat 11th June - pub opening hours extended to mark the Queen's 90th birthday (tugs forelock).

Sat 11th June 8 p.m. - England v Russia at the Euros (and on TV at all pubs near you)

Sounds like a recipe for disaster.
Hope the junior doctors aren't on strike.

If you're going to/been to a Hampshire Premier League match, I'd really appreciate you filling in a questionnaire - available in the Groundhopping/General section, or just PM me for a copy. Thanks.

People can more or less drink round the clock these days if they so wish so i can't see this making much difference.

The mindset of your average pub goer has changed somewhat drastically
since all-day opening came back on the agenda in August 1988.

I think there was a cock-up in the bill when it went through Parliament that
saw an extra hour, initially, to Sunday lunch time sessions then that got
swallowed up a few years down the line.

You would always know when the clock was ticking towards noon on a Sunday
as the streets were suddenly filled with men of all ages preparing for that two
hours of alcoholic rush and a free for all at the food on the bar too...

Getting an extra few hours for Madge's birthday would have been something many
a moon ago but as you say, nobody gives a shit anymore...as, you quite rightly
say, it's available 24/7 if needs be.

No more draining shit wine through some old tart's tights at a party when all the
booze had run out and nothing was open.... Crazy

Agree, but when England lose 1-0 to a dodgy refereeing decision it means there will be more opportunity for trouble, and generally more booze may have flowed on that day because some people will insist on doing what Dave says and drink a toast to the old bat.
