Leeds United 'Pie Tax' Can't Post or Reply Privately

It appears that Leeds United have increased their prices in the South Stand by 5 to now include a refreshment voucher irrespective of whether you want it or not. Has not gone down well with Leeds Supporters who are calling it a Pie Tax. Various links for this if you go looking.

Big enough stadium so the answer is simple, stay out of the South Stand the idiots that came up with such an ill thought out lunatic scheme will soon catch on and drop the whole ridiculous thing..

Is that the price of a pie at Elland Road?

Probably, think they're 3.50 at the Lane, don't know never buy one outside of non-league.

Appears to be a "meal deal" voucher. You get food AND a drink.

Somehow I don't think that will be enough to win the fans over though.

Just because you're paranoid, it doesn't mean they're not out to get you.

Oh it only applies in the south stand? Anyway I ticked Elland Road long ago and am not likely to be revisting anytime soon, they can stick their refreshment vouchers where the sun doesn't shine as far as I'm concernedWink

Probably won't be needed when paying spectators (excluding ST holders) can go in other areas of the ground for 5 lessUnimpressed

If you want a pie and a pint (assuming that's the deal) it's a decent offer .If you don't, you just sit elsewhere. If enough people move to different areas the whole thing will end.
There's not much to see,, here.

A pie and a pint for 5 doesn't sound like a particularly good deal to me but I think Leeds fans are annoyed at the arrogance of Massimo Cellini introducing this 'pie tax' without any consultation with the fans.

There are predictable jokes from fans of other clubs doing the rounds about pies being unavailable due to Steve Evans having eaten them allSly

I think that's Cellini's reasoning. Everyone moves out of the South stand then he can close it and save on stewarding. Bates did the same with the east stand for years.

Really? I doubt there's an FL ground in the country where you can get a pint and a pie for a fiver. Obviously you have to want both items for it to be a bargain,
I can understand why they want rid of Cellini but they seem to have reached the point where they will disagree with whatever he does. He won't give a damn about their walkout in the 17th minute, he'll be happy to have taken their money

But does Cellini not want out of the club? If so why would he care.

Which is why I very rarely buy food and drink at a ground.

Any walkout is likely to be an unwanted distraction for the players.

I have to admit Leeds are very entertaining.

Off the pitch anyway.

Same here, mainly because I like to stand on my own with plenty of space to spill my tea, slurp my pie and fart like a f+cker after the event. I then return to the populated parts of the ground.
