Yogurts Can't Post or

I tend to have a low fat one everyday, so each time I go shopping I tend to buy a six pack. In the last few weeks firstly Sainsbury's and now both the Co-op and Iceland have not had any of their own available but all have Muller products as special offers. Some with a third off others with a 50% reduction or are BOGOF. As I used to work in the food industry over 20 years ago now I know own brands are made by the brand names and just labelled for the relevant shop. But it does seem strange that such a wide ranging change has happened to promote Muller products?.

I tend not to bother with such things (not when Morrison's are selling 2 boxes of Jelly Babies for 2!!) but my dad regularly has Muller rice/yoghurts. They are almost always on BOGOF, 50% off or 10 for 3 somewhere.

This is not the only product that Sainsbury's do this with as they always seem to be knocking out Ginsters products on BOGOF or reduced to a quid. There have of course been many people speaking out against such practices in the media of late saying it causes waste.

Ginsters are another one if it's not Sainsbury's it's the Co-op or Tesco, all do them for a quid at various times yet in some garages they are priced at over 2!. Does anyone pay full price?. I like the Peppered Steak slices but I find they are not as peppery as they used to be.

Cat food is another one Sainsbury's and Tesco's always have a well known brand reduced.

And cheese always one full mature cheddar at half price yet people still buy the full priced one.

I tend to stick with the Activia fat free yoghurts, similarly it's something I have most days.
Went off the Muller stuff years ago.

Can't stand Yogurt, never eaten it, don't intend to, sour milk, what is the appeal?
Porridge Yes, Rice Pudding Yes, Yogurt NO!!!.
Now Marks Cheese Puffs and Powdery milk bottles, now you are talking.
The Marks garage between Jct 11/12 on the M4 are always selling out of the powdery milk gums, they can't keep up with demand! Tongue

I tend to avoid most processed foodstuffs as they are full of stabilisers, mould inhibitors and a host of other chemicals, which I find unpalatable.

Having said that on a recent trip to France to stock up on horse, rabbit, venison, wine and other foods difficult to find in the UK, I was tempted by the Special Prix on a ten pack of Muller fruit corner yoghurt for 1 Euro.

Her indoors devoured them for lunch over a week at the office. Her co workers were surprised at how cheap they were. She didn't venture to detail the price of horse, a much leaner and flavoursome alternative to beef......and at a third of the price splendid value.

The British obsession with pets generally rules out the consumption of Bambi, Dobbin and Flopsy. We of European persuasion suffer no such qualms.

My late Mum had a great long list of food she did not like or would not eat To my knowledge she had never tried any of them She would say I know I would no like them.

I know people that like Doctor Pepper but won't drink Daddy Lion and Burdock.

No problem round here eating Rabbit, Squirrel or Pigeons. Sure a few would take the odd Swan if the Queen is not looking.

Alright, I've tried it probably twice in my lifetime, vile.
Maybe I should try it again.

Never was a fan of the plain stuff but Ski hazelnut was always good to go back in the day.

Not imbibed of late but would imagine they've gone all poncey like coffee and milk.

Doubtless 'round here' would be a rural area. Try finding rabbit, venison or horse in any urban area.

Lidl have stocked venison, but only at Christmas. But they are a German retailer. Swan would make a very tasty alternative to turkey or goose during the festive season....sadly I believe it to be illegal to consume what is after all only another game bird.

We're plagued by deer around here at the moment but I think the
limp wristed brigade are getting there quorn in a tiz every time
the 'C' word is mentioned.

Still, got my butcher mate on speed dial just in case one gets brought
down outside chez Quixote.

Do love a bit of rabbit...oft found in paella mixta and tried ostrich and wild
boar too...both ticked all the boxes.
