Combined Counties League Can't Post or Reply Privately

This email has been sent to the clubs this evening:

Earlier this evening, I received a number of emails from Mike Appleby at the FA, which together with the earlier ones, finalise this season's movements as far as the CCL is concerned.

In summary, this is the situation:

Leaving the League
Molesey - promoted to the Ryman League, Division One South
AFC Croydon Athletic - promoted to the Southern Counties East (ex Kent) League, Premier Division
Alton Town - switched back to the Wessex League

Joining the League
Redhill - relegated from the Ryman League, Division One South
AFC Hayes - relegated from the Southern League, Central Division
Abbey Rangers - promoted from the Surrey Elite League
South Park Reserves - switched from the Suburban League

As required by the rules, the Board will now prepare next season's proposed constitution, which will be advised to all concerned just as quickly as possible.

Re: [AlanC] Combined Counties League [In reply to] Can't Post or Reply Privately

So with the Prem losing Molesey but gaining Redhill, AFC Hayes from above and Chessington & Hook United from below, does that mean that both Hanworth Villa and Chertsey Town will be reprieved to take the division back up to 22.

That would leave Division One with 16 again (losing AFC Croydon Athletic, Chessington & Hook and Alton Town, but gaining Frimley Green, South Park Reserves and Abbey Rangers)

Or will the split be 20/18 - in which case they'd have to go through with the relegations of Chertsey and Hanworth

Or 21/17 split (reprieving Hanworth but relegating Chertsey)

It'll be either 22/16 or 20/18. Alan won't recommend 21/17!

I think it should be 22/16. There's no need to relegate Hanworth & Chertsey just so the divisions have similar numbers. It's a shame for the league that two clubs have been moved sideways as it wants to get the numbers up but there's one more team than last season and at least three clubs at step 7 next season who want to come up and should have the grading.

Can I ask which three? Horsley from SEIL one of them? A Middlesex County side...Tooting & Mitcham Wanderers or Cricklewood but wouldn't they be better suited to the SSML though? And the CoCo only has those two feeders really - so how would they get a third?

They may not get all three in one season but there's more chance of them getting at least two. Horsley are doing their ground up and usually one of the stronger sides in the Surrey Elite. Tooting & Mitcham Wanderers, although playing at Whyteleafe could put them in the Kent part of the pyramid these days. The other is Balham FC who applied this season. They're groundsharing at Cobham next season.
There are others who want to come up, like Virginia Water, but getting floodlights is the thorny issue in these parts.

Re: [VP] Combined Counties League [In reply to] Can't Post or

With AFC Hayes going to the SML then to CoCo and Wembley moving in the past and South Kilburn a few years ago going from the Hellenic to CoCo plus Badshot Lea and Viking Sports in the past, the old Chestnut when will Rayners Lane move to the CoCo or SML?.

We don't know the Hellenic line up yet but can't see much coming from the east of the area and really these days Rayners are beyond the east of the Hellenic. All the names that are being thrown about are in the middle or west of the area - Bicester to Div One East? and Moreton to Div Two West and with Flackwell going up the Hellenic is starting to drift north west again slightly. Thinking that Tuffley, Longlevens and Ciren Development have come in the last two years. Furthest east new (old) boys being Thatcham in last couple of years though that could now be "balanced" by Newbury's expected retreat into the North Berks.

And if the league ever does get up to numbers and some of the non floodlit clubs have to go they could also be more east than west especially if Headington Ams and Easington get lights in the next year or two. As an aside not sure where P&TG application got to on the lights front

If I remember rightly Rayners Lane have enquired about joining the CCL in the past but they never put in a formal request to move. It was round about the time they were getting floodlights.
When Windsor reformed and were placed in the CCL it made me think that the FA's 'grand plan' was to move the leagues west a bit. Then we got Alton and with clubs moving from the CCL and Sussex to Kent it all seems on track. Except they've moved Alton back to the Wessex this season. I don't know if Alton requested this or not.

**Just looked at their website. Alton have been lobbying the FA for a return to the Wessex League.

Re: [VP] Combined Counties League [In reply to] Can't Post or Reply Privately

The league are proposing a 22/16 split therefore:

Premier Division (22 clubs)
AFC Hayes
Ashford Town (Middlesex)
Badshot Lea
Bedfont Sports
Camberley Town
Chertsey Town
Chessington & Hook United
Colliers Wood United
Cove
Epsom & Ewell
Farnham Town
Guildford City
Hanworth Villa
Hartley Wintney
Horley Town
Knaphill
Raynes Park Vale
Redhill
Spelthorne Sports
Sutton Common Rovers
Westfield
Windsor

Division One (16 clubs)
Abbey Rangers
Ash United
Banstead Athletic
Bedfont & Feltham
CB Hounslow United
Cobham
Dorking
Epsom Athletic
Eversley & California
Farleigh Rovers
Frimley Green
Sandhurst Town
Sheerwater
South Park Res
Staines Lammas
Worcester Park

There have been some changes of ground and a few are due to happen either during the season or before 2016-17 starts.

This is the latest I'm aware of and not be completely up to date or accurate!

Badshot Lea to move into their new ground sometime during this season.
Camberley Town ground to be redeveloped at the end of the season.
CB Hounslow United to move into their new ground at the end of the season.
Dorking to move back to Meadowbank when it's ready (I think it'll be at least a year).
Staines Lammas have ended their groundshare with Ashford and moved back to their old ground.
Sutton Common Rovers (ex-Mole Valley SCR) are now playing at Sutton United FC.

With reference to Badshot Lea and CB Houslow - where are the new grounds, or are we referring to returns to old grounds.

I understand that Abbey Rangers will use a different pitch at Addlestone Moor to the one I saw used by them August bank holiday 2013.

Badshot Lea are taking over a ground that was home to Farnham Rugby, in Wrecclesham, vacated when Farnham Rugby got a brand new ground built at side of David Lloyd Leisure in Weybourne (between Farnham and Badshot Lea/Aldershot)

I believe CB Hounslow United are hoping to move to a new ground down Green Lane in Hounslow Heath, about 10 to 15 minutes from Feltham station on the 117 bus.

Good, two new grounds not far from home. One assumes Badshot Lea must be floodlit, and hopes Hounslow will be as well

I don't know if it's the same place but the ground is being built from scratch.
In April CB Hounslow said on Twitter that it'll be ready half way through this season but they won't be moving the first team there until the start of 2016-17.

The council (MVDC) meeting to finalise everything is in June, and hopefully, work on the ground will start almost immediately.

With the Leagues permission we are playing home games again at the New Defence, thanks to HTFC

Which is something they cannot do under FA Law, unless the Suburban League does not object.

Re: [pitch 63] Combined Counties League [In reply to] Can't Post or Reply Privately

Dorking Wanderers contacted the League towards the end of last week. Given the lateness of the application, they were advised to contact the Football Association. In the meantime the Board of the CCL decided that if they were directed to the League they would be accepted. The club is of the view that the move has been sanctioned by the FA who asked us if we would be willing to take them. The CCL awaits formal confirmation from the FA that this is the case.

Clubs in the CCL agreed via an EGM in the winter that a maximum of two reserve sides from clubs playing at Step 4 or above could be accepted into Division One, due to a shortage of suitable clubs. If they come to the League, there will be 17 clubs in Division One next season.
