Amateur Cup & Vase double Can't Post or Reply Privately

If it happens will North Shields be first team to win both FA Amateur Cup & FA Vase ?

I know they had to reformed in 1992 but it is same club.

Also would North Ferriby be first team to lose an FA Vase final and then to go and win a FA Trophy final

Check out and follow possibly the best Non League blog and certainly the best Blyth Spartans AFC blog:

Sheffield and Oxford City won one and not t'other, Southall
lost in both, as did Lowestoft and West Auckland....

FA Vase semi programme wanted: 2001 Taunton v Clitheroe.

Without detailed checking - Wycombe Wanderers have won the Trophy and Amateur Cup (much more likely than Vase / Amateur) and were also FA Cup semi-finalist.

re North Ferriby - Forest Green won the Vase but lost in two Trophy Finals.

Woking, Wealdstone & Enfield have also done an Amateur / Trophy double.

Looking at the list of Amateur Cup winners - there are very few clubs surviving who could complete an Amateur / Vase double, even without any qualification re continuity.

The strange thing about North Shields (for a reason I can't find) is that it was then normal practice to give the Amateur Cup finalists exemption to the First Round Proper of the following season's FA Cup - in their case they were not?

Lesson 1 - Always check a 'memory'......

It was Whitby Town in 1965/66 who started in Q1 after losing the previous season's Amateur Cup Final - Barnet - previous season's FA Cup? were given 1P exemption. Perhaps Whitby forgot to apply for their exemption?

Of the others not exempted Pegasus and Corinthian Casuals (at the time) did not enter the FA Cup. The vacancies to Bromley (semi-finalist) and then Walthamstow Avenue and Bedford Town (both previous season's FA Cup?)

The only other is Kingstonian in 1960/61 as it is likely Gateshead (FL rejected) were given a 1P exemption. The Stones also started in Q1.

For some reason Whitby didn't play in the 64-5 FA Cup - could be something to do with that?
