Looks like WHU Sakho row with FIFA could get them kicked out the FA Cup.

If the rules are as stated its an open and shut case. West Brom v Bristol City in the next round then.

July 1, 2019 to June 30,2020 = 127 / 107 / 20 / 5 x 0-0's. (You know my rules) @ 07 / 12 / 2019 . Belgium top 5 tiers 0-0-0-(0-1-0)-(0-1-1-2) / Holland top 4 tiers - 0-0-0-(0-0) / Lux top 2 tiers 0 -2. England top 10 tiers - 0. Now blogging at https://eccentricity.video.blog/

WHU 'vigorously' deny any wrongdoing. Wonder what line of defense they will be presenting at the inquiry.

This sort of thing has gone on for years. I wonder if Senegal would've reported Bayern Munich/R Madrid/Barcelona/Man Utd....... if one of those clubs had pulled the same stuntUnsure. Throw them out, it'll make the Rams route to the final a tad easierTongue

They might say that African Cup of Nations, isn't a serious competition. I'm sure they'll get the nod from FIFA with thatSly

I do not get w*** h**'s position here. Playing a League 1 team (even a top of the table team) they should have enough quality without risking playing Diafra Sakho. Even an average supporter like me can see that this would be a big risk and press reports out of Senegal before the Bristol City game suggested that they were unhappy that Sakho was not being allowed to report to his national team for an assessment.

However, living in the East of London and having been a witness to the club's arragence over the last 40+ years I am not surprised that they did what they did. Once a horrible club always a horrible club.

This is West Ham we're talking about - no chance of being thrown out, probably get a bye to final instead.

Was he replaced in Senegal's squad? Because if his injury has responded to treatment - and obviously he avoided the plane trip - it's more than feasible he could be fit 18 days after being injury.

Not that I care, the Cup is dead to me for 6+ monthsSmile

FIFA's rules say he can't play for West Ham whilst he should have been with Senegal.

Unless both parties come to an agreement. Which they obviously didn't here.

Whether he gained full fitness or not in the interim isn't really the issue.

So FIFA have ruled Sakho was an ineligible player for the Bristol City tie

The FA is consistent (not) on these things so let's see what they come up with this time

FIFA do not run the FA Cup, so I fail to see how they can throw the club out (they could ban the player from football). As far as the FA are concerned, he was eligible for the competition.

As far as the FA are concerned, he was eligible for the competition. But if FIFA state that he was ineligible to play for his club due to the fact that he should have been on international duty, then it logically follows that he was ineligible for any competition that his club was due to play in, whether it was the FA Cup or the Dog & Duck League. Due process should now follow whereby the FA throw the club out of the FA Cup, the club appeal and an independent panel orders a replay.

The West Brom v West Ham game is this Saturday lunchtime, might be a bit late to kick them out?

Match tickets sold and fans will have bought rail tickets so i'd say late is about right.

I think if WHU were going to receive anything other than the fine, we'd all have heard by now! They are not going to be kicked out of the FA Cup! If Bristol City had any chance of being reinstated, they'd be rattling on about it by now as well.

The case was closed last week with the FIFA punishment. The FA had never argued that any of their rules were broken so they're not going to take any extra action. Bristol City could, in theory, take out a civil action but that seems unlikely.

As others have said, nothing above the fine is going to happen now. No time for starters.

But I'd be interested to know what FA Cup rules actually say about this.

Well his excuse for the defeat was lame and the chairman did apologise to the fans for the performance....

If you're going to/been to a Hampshire Premier League match, I'd really appreciate you filling in a questionnaire - available in the Groundhopping/General section, or just PM me for a copy. Thanks.
