Miles on the Clock Can't Post or

Just noticed the mileage on my Hoppermobile is up to 226,000 miles which wont please the 'Global Warming Brigade' trying to limit damage to the environment....but where is this Global Warming, the recent weather forecast didn't give out any UV warnings. Do other member's of the Parish, who drive.... have similar miles on the clock?

I'm not sure I understand the question... if there was one?

Basically if it's hot then it's down to 'global warming'. If it's cold then it's down to 'weather'. Global warming is a very powerful multi billion pound industry with plenty of donations available to political parties. Probably should be moved to Non Football unless I completely misunderstood the point, which wouldn't be the first time heh

My first Skoda, an Octavia reached 227,000, when I traded it in for a Fabian, which had done 247,000 when I swapped it for my current Octavia, which is now on 121,000 in 31 months

It's right here.

2014 was the hottest year on record. 13 of the 15 hottest years on record have happened since 2000.

Re: [codofthenorth] Miles on the Clock [In reply to] Can't Post or

A few years ago I had a Primera which reached 424K, although it had a new engine at 292K after a spectacular failure on a Devon Hop.

Then I had an Almera which I gave up on at 243K after continuing problems with the engine mangaement system.

Then a Fabia which did a mere 189K before i got a change offer I couldn't refuse for my current Fabia Greenline which is at around the 110K mark a few months before its third birthday !

My older cars seemed to die at 200-250,000. But confident my current Focus (diesel) will keep going to at least 300,000. Meanwhile up the road in Ipswich, Mr Abbott's 07 Astra is approaching 400,000.

My 10 plate Ecotronic Fiesta Diesel has 38k on it, I purchased it when it was 11 months old with 9k on it. I will probably change it this year or next as I don't like to many miles on the clock.

My W-reg Astra van (LPG!) is up to 673K, but I was a courier for many years so most of that wasn't exactly ordinary usage. No expense spared etc. Still going strong though. Following Truro City does tend to keep the miles rolling by... Unsure
