Indonesia - Investigation after 5 own goals in game Can't Post or Reply Privately

Five own goals were scored in Indonesian second tier match in an attempt to avoid a meeting with a club thought to be backed by local mafia

Just because you're paranoid, it doesn't mean they're not out to get you.

The play off procedure has been racked with controversy, crowd violence, teams not turning up and one would not bet against matches having been fixed.

I notice that Pusamania Borneo have a 100% record at home, but a very poor record away. I cannot find any detail of the promotion semi-final schedule, butit seems strange, given this that the two teams were trying to avoid playing the (expected) runners-up of the other group. It is unusual for a group runner up to stage the semi against the winner of the other group. I would have expected the two semi-finals to have been played at a single neutral venue (as happens for the ISL). The final is scheduled for a neutral venue.

Note also that Pusamania Borneo v Persis Solo has not been played. Solo travelled to Samarinda but returned home without playing, after incidents during the training session, and possibly around the hotel. Pusamania have not been confirmed as through to the semi-finals, Persis would go through instead if they won, and seem hopeful the match will be re-scheduled and played on Java.

Betting on whether matches have been fixed or not; that sounds like a new market just waiting to be exploited. Tongue

Both teams involved in the own goal farce were kicked out of the play offs and several players and club officials were banned for various periods including life

One player scored two own goals...his name is Komedi Cool
