Didn't New Salamis win the penalty shootout?

New Salamis did win the penalty shoot-out, as they will play OJM in the semi-final.

Semi-final draw

They must have done judging by the semi-final draw made today

but it was submitted on line to the The F.A. yesterday afternoon the other way around

It means all 4 away teams went through yesterday

I will amend the results summary

So the semi-final of initials is thwarted!

Very strange that NLO are bottom of their division and have won only one game all season; yet they managed to reach the quarter-finals of the FA Sunday Cup...

Possibly due to all the 'guests' that turn out for the Sunday cup matches not playing in normal league games!

Playing "guests" is probably disadvantageous in the long run though? Randomly cobbling together a squad of "all stars" once every 4-6 weeks does not allow teams to build chemistry. It might also cause disharmony among the regular team players.

New Salamis play pretty much the same squad in their league, County FA, and FA Sunday Cup matches and have reaped the benefits (FA Sunday cup semi-finalists, LFA Sunday Challenge Cup finalists, undefeated all season). They have opted to enforce their "only 3 non-Cypriot players" rule in their county FA and FA Sunday cup matches even though they do not HAVE to since those games are not under the jurisdiction of their league.

Let's hope that New Salamis have learned from fellow KOPA leaguers FC Tripimeni, who also reached the FA Sunday Cup semi-final but were then slung out for fielding ringers and banned from re-entering!
