Well spotted...now can you answer my observation on whether any vegetarians die young.

I merely hightlighted the fact that Bob Crow was in a high stress job because there could have been more to his death than his diet!

I think he suffered enough through being a Millwall supporter.

I heard a lively discussion on Bob Crow on 14 March "This Week".

It starts just before six minutes into the episode

http://www.bbc.co.uk/...his_Week_13_03_2014/

The programme ends with a chat with Sol Campbell, when Sol explains how only blatant discrimination stopped him being appointed Kaiser, Prime Minister and God. Or something like that.

His death is also not a good advert for a high pressure job of union leader, which must be extremely stressful. I

Arthur Scargill - who took more stick from the press than Bob Crow ever did - is still alive and well.

Is he vegetarian?

He had Shredded Wheat for breakfastTongue

I have no idea as to whether he ever went to Dulwich Hamlet but he did apparently 'work out' regularly although it seems he did over indulge in food and drink, something I've been guilty of in the past. Whether he smoked or not I don't know but if he did that may well have been a contributory factor, although sometimes these things just happen for no obvious reason.

I wouldn't have thought his job was particularly stressful though.

I met him once, some time back, and was very impressed as to what a genuine bloke he was. There was no showing off, just a wish to do what he had to do and then skip a free luch so he could go off to a nearby pub to have a few drinks with his mates.

Re: [jrev61] Bob Crow [In reply to] Can't Post or Reply Privately

The only time I ever saw Bob Crow in action was outside a building site in London where electricians had set up a picket line (about 30 people) over the deskilling of trades, blacklisting and other things, there was a lot of pushing and shoving going on with the picketers and the city of London police and Bob rocked up as a guest speaker, said something along the lines of the Police needing support in times of policing cuts and how being a key worker in London is near impossible on their wages and instantly there was more of a feeling of empathy with the Police rather than the same old 1980's style hatred, the pushing stopped, the protest went on in a much happier less hostile mood.
