What a c**p draw. Hardly anything stands out to be televised for a potential shock except Boreham Wood v Carlisle. No doubt Biggleswade will be thrilled to bits with their draw away to Stourbridge.

St Albans v Mansfield

Bishop Stort v Northampton

Shortwood/Aldershot v Port Vale

Braintree v Newport Co

Gloucester v Fleetwood

The above all look good ties, what do you expect? Inevitably there's going to be a lot of run of the mill stuff

And to the above:
Grimsby v Scunthorpe (TV cert I expect)
Macclesfield v Swindon
Hednesford v Crawley

So that's eight with shock potential..

Plus
Tamworth v Cheltenham
Worcester or Lincoln v Plymouth

So with the Boreham Wood game you quote that's 11 non-league v league ties. Rather than [email protected] I think it's quite a classic!

Oldham v Wolves is a cert for the TV, and probably AFC Wimbledon v Coventry, although I would prefer to see a non-league v league tie on the box.

I don't think there will be a shock at Bishops Stortford. The home team should win comfortably!

what are you on about? Their are tones of good games their and potential for shocks everywhere! I'd say the following all have potential to be on the TV OR/AND for a cup shock:

Boreham Wood v Carlisle United
St. Albans City v Mansfield Town
Tamworth v Cheltenham Town
Grimsby Town v Scunthorpe United
Bury v Cambridge United
AFC Wimbledon v Coventry City
Bishop's Stortford v Northampton Town
Shortwood United or Aldershot Town v Port Vale
Leyton Orient v Southport
Braintree Town v Newport County
Worcester City or Lincoln City v Plymouth Argyle
Hednesford Town v Crawley Town
Gloucester City v Fleetwood Town

Of those the three on TV from my guess will be Grimsby v Scunthorpe, Hednesford Town v Crawley Town & Bishop's Stortford v Northampton Town

Better draw than looked likely when the number of non-league sides drawn away were leading their home equivalents 12-10.

Decent number of all non-league clashes and plenty of possible upsets.

I doubt my three selections for tv coverage will be chosen but FWIW I would go for:

Bishop's Stortford versus Northampton Town. The only side to upset a level five club yesterday against a team struggling at the foot of level four. Two clubs who for very different reasons share the dearly held thought that they do not wish to meet in Conference North in two seasons time. The Hertfordshire club deserve a national television audience as they aim for another giantkilling.

Stourbridge versus Biggleswade Town. A disastrous weekend for the Northern Premier and Isthmian who could only despair as their final representatives all bowed out of the most important cup competition in the land. Congratulations to the Southern League with five clubs already into round one and another three still flying the flag. What better way to celebrate that momentous achievement than to feature the only all Southern League clash of the round. Stourbridge had recent cup pedigree even before yesterday's prodigious win in Cumbria, while Biggleswade Town are in uncharted territory. A terrific occasion awaits, the cameras should be there.

Braintree Town versus Newport County. An European tie to finish with. Alan Devonshire, cultured distributor, cruelly denied a league title when West Ham United won 10 of 12 matches in 36 crazy days in 1986 only to discover that the last match two days later wouldn't matter, to scheme the downfall of the Football League men from across the Severn Bridge. 32 is the magic number. Braintree Town are one of 32 clubs that will eventually come through the 4th qualifying round, and 32 years and a few months ago Newport County had their finest cup hour, coming within a whisker of an European semi-final. Difficult to read the omens but something is surely afoot as this tie is actually number 31, a close encounter in view?

They're my selections but I wouldn't be surprised if the moguls opt for the matches hosted by Grimsby Town, Oldham Athletic and Wimbledon. Uninspired choices lacking in imagination perhaps?

Unlikely, when the higher league team is at home games are not usually chosen unless it has a huge interest in it like the MKDv AFCW last season. Westleyball not great tv anyway.

At least it gives Wrexham a chance to get revenge for their defeat at Alfreton in last year's first round.

I'm tempted by Corby Town v Dover Athletic but have a horrible feeling that some family event or other, the details of which I can't remember, might scupper it. Unsure

TV companies will look for wither shock factor featuring a League team away, or fixtures involving the biggest clubs. And Portsmouth (next to Sheffield United and Wolves) are about the biggest in support terms. There recent cup exploits will be an added factor.

Appreciate the vote of confidence, but if this is live on the telly then I'll have seen it all! Feel for Biggleswade in their first ever appearance in the "Proper" rounds. They would have been hoping for something much better, I'm sure, but it it is winnable for both teams and they may just find the extra motivation to go another step and get the draw they will probably feel they've "earned".

We've had our luck and our fun with Walsall, Plymouth and Stevenage in the last few seasons, and I think most of our supporters had a feeling that we were due a "duff" draw - absolutely no disrespect to Biggleswade intended. At least we're at home and we'll probably be marginal favourites becasue of that and our higher League position. Not that I put much weight on that.

Good news. One of the ones I'd hoped for.

Now give us the tasty looking Grimsby Town v. Scunthorpe United

I'd hope, if there's to be any FL v. FL games televised, we'd get Accrington Stanley v. Tranmere Rovers 'cos Stanley could do with the moola just now!

Professional cretin.
