CORRECT!

Yes we spent a couple of nights in that Ryman Premier hotbed, Leiston. The object being to go to Southwold as it and Aldeburgh are used in the filming of one of Oxford Stone Junior's favourite TV programmes, Grandpa In My Pocket. After a stroll on the pier and a scary climb up the lighthouse, had a lovely pint of Gun Hill Mild in this pub. Lots of people were enjoying fish and chips but we'd had that the previous night in the Parrot and Punchbowl in Leiston.

Looking on a map, Abingdon to Southwold as the crow flies is halfway to Alkmaar.
