Oxford City F.A 2013/14 Can't Post or

AFC Blackbirds, Barton United (N), Fairview (Headington), Masons Arms (Headington) (N), Oakley United "A", Original Swan (Cowley) (N), Summertown Stars (N), The George (Littlemore), Union Street

2013/14 - 9 clubs up from 7 last season, leaving are Rose Hill and Community All Stars. I have put where the pubs locations are in brackets just for reference.

Two of the new teams are from pubs, The Masons Arms is in Headington Quarry and is an award winning pub http://www.themasonsarmshq.co.uk/ and it brews it's own beer, it is run by the Meeson's who's father played in goal for Reading many years ago.

Summertown Stars are a new team and come from the very successful youth set up, who have produced many players over the years including Joey Beauchamp http://www.summertownstars.org/#

Barton United are a Sunday side who play their Sunday games at the same ground as Headington Amateurs, but as Amateurs have a reserve side I am not sure where they will play, though there is just about room to fit another pitch along side the main pitch at the venue

Wow, are the Fairview still going - surely Glyn the landlord is not STILL there is he??????

The high point of my playing career was for this lot, non-playing sub in a cup final (Lord Jersey I think), and described in the programme as the Martini-man, who would play any time, any place, any where.......

Oh, the memories......
