Shocking to think that just 10 years ago it had 48 members!
Even more recently - just four years ago - it had 36 members in 3 divisions. Now its down to 22. That is really sad to see, but they've only themselves to blame unfortunately.

Marlborough Town, Wroughton and Southbrook (previously Westside) are the only first teams that have been there more than 10 years! And Wroughton is dubious, as they dropped out halfway through last season.

Why Marlborough aren't completely driven to move up to Step 6 is beyond me - can they really enjoy being in this league?

From what I have seen of Marlborough they are barely able to raise a competitive side each season, so I can't see them getting out of it in a hurry. I have always wondered why. Must assume a lack of interest in football in the town.

I went to Marlborough v Pewsey in the Wilts SC must 20 years ago, a chap from Pewsey who must have been 80 plus then said pre War Marlborough were a good side but had been going down hill ever since - getting crowds of several 100 and four figures on occasions. Think Marlborough though not on the Cotswolds suffers like many towns that are, total lack of interest. Also I presume in parts it is an expensive place to live and places of that ilk tend not to be football orientated

Is the stand still at the ground?

No stand there when I went at the beginning of the 2011-12 season. The only cover was provided by overhang in front of the clubhouse.

Nearly, Molders, nearly. 27 Nov 1993. It was a smashing little ground then, we wondered why they were in the Wiltshire League then too..................
