Todays Tamworth herald refers to Austrey Rangers running an open age Saturday team in 2013/14

As the u21 team was in the Comb last year this would be the logical league for them to join

Yes, I have heard they have applied to join the MFC and that the ground has been passed, another who have applied again are Brereton Social and several others but will there be enough places for them all?
The rumour mill suggests Kenilworth, Clements, Greenhill and Coventry Spires may all have resigned so that will open up a few more places if true.

There's certainly a great big sign on that ground saying "welcome to Rostance Edwards FC", I drive past it regularly

Rostance Edwards is actually an accountancy firm based in Cannock. One of the partners, Barry Edwards, according to their website "played football in his younger days to a very high standard almost making professional standard, these days he offers his time at weekends as chairman and manager of a football club for less privileged children and up to the age of 21."
http://www.rostance.co.uk/about.html

When I saw Sikh Hunters play at the Bloxwich ground a couple of seasons back, when Bloxwich United were still going and the two were groundsharing, that "Rostance Edwards FC" sign was up, as were advertising hoardings for the firm, and I was told at the time it was a Sunday team .....

Paget have been playing at the Holly Lane / Woodacre Road site, but I believe from something I heard a long time ago the intention is they'll groundshare @ Boldmere St Michael with Boldmere Reserves going back in the opposite direction. Needs confirming though.

I believe Paget have agreed to play at Boldmere but no confirmation as yet. However, Boldmere St.Michaels Reserve team is now sadly defunct, so they won't be returning to Holly Lane.

According to the local press Coventry United are actually a brand new club formed in protest at the possibility of CCFC being moved out of the city........

Spartans were a "break away" club from Amateurs who had left the Mid Comb and took their reserves place in the Stratford Alliance. The Spartans had sort of "connection" with Coventry City . That was what I was told when I visited in 2012. This came up before in reference to Spartans who had told the Mid Comb they were a continuation Amateurs when in fact Amateurs still existed. Maybe this time it is easier to say they are a new club.

It does look like a new club, the badge states established 2013 and the coventry Observer is reporting its a new club formed because of the problems at Coventry City.

Both clubs appear to have the same secretary and play at the same ground. Spartans are this season sponsored by Coventry City Supporters Club. And when you look at the history of the club it says Amateurs!.

Just to make this clear - Coventry United are definitely a new club formed as a protest in case CCFC are moved out of the city in which case the clear agenda is that they would hope to attract some of the 90-95% of us(if not more) who will not watch CCFC play their home games anywhere other than in Coventry. They are being spoken of in the local media as a similar club to AFC Wimbledon, although the club are keen to play down that aspect at the present time.
