Brechin City Can't Post or Reply Privately

Anyone know why the last 6 games at Glebe Park have been postponed often when every other game in Scotland has not been postponed? Also anyone know if there's a danger that they may have to play game somewhere else to fit all postponements in the time between now and the end of the season?

There are many recent photos of their pitch covered in snow on the net but no doubt you have seen them.

Pitch Update
There is obvious concern and worry about the current condition of the Glebe Park pitch and the loss of income provided from Saturday fixtures. The Management Committee wish to apologise for any inconvenience caused as result of postponed fixtures. The Committee and groundstaff have taking steps over the past weeks to try and improve the situation without much success to date. The comm...ittee has sought the advice and recommendations of many parties including drainage and groundcare specialists, parks and roads departments, water board, local councillors and former Glebe Park groundstaff. A ground breaking tool has been used on the pitch and all internal drains have been checked to ensure free flow. The ground staff and committee continue to nurse the pitch through this difficult period in the short term whilst seeking a more long term solution to the drainage issues. All options will be fully considered in our efforts to take the most responsible action in the Clubs best interest. All available on the net.

Re: [dottirofhod] Brechin City [In reply to] Can't Post or Reply Privately

i think in common with a few grounds recently its just an accumulation of rain and snow to a pitch that has been played on in very heavy conditions meaning now they've no time to sort it or give it a rest to repair. Bit like Motherwell a few years back and my own QoS a few years back too - we played a game when it was borderline playable and the pitch despite the best efforts of the ground staff never recovered until the close season.

There is some talk on various fan sites (pie and bovril) of them maybe sharing at Forfar or Montrose to get games played - i wonder though if theres an issue of some teams playing Brechin 'away' when Brechin wouldnt be at 'home'. Having said that the same argument could be made that its unfair to play on a bog of a pitch.

On a personal level all these postponements is delaying QoS mathmatically wrapping up the title - at this rate Icantbelieveitsnotrangers FC will win their league first and then no doubt claim a new 'World record'!
