Re: [gcnc] Llanelli [In reply to] Can't Post or Reply Privately

I was under the impression that the current ground used by Lliswerry was to be Llanwern's ground and was built to Welsh League specification?

Llanwern were to continue at Spytty Park until Lliswerry's new ground was finished (a more basic venue than the one built for Llanwern).

So, on that logic Llanwern would move to the ground Lliswerry have been using this season as had been intended and Lliswerry could go to Spytty Park if the Welsh League does not like groundshares? Lliswerry have made things complicated by getting promoted!

I suppose Llanwern could be perfectly happy at the main pitch and Lliswerry could stay where they are.

That would leave the new facility that Lliswerry were to use free for another Gwent team?

I need a lie down!

Last ground visited(update requested by Spud): Wellington . New grounds 18/19: 38

Re: [KnowYourMarket] Llanelli [In reply to] Can't Post or

I must admit when they explained it to me it become somewhat confusing, Lliswerry have another ground, used by their junior teams that they hope to bring up to Welsh League standards. I think that was one thing they said. Llanwern's old ground is still in situ but has been vandalised to death?. The 4G pitch was funded or owned by the Welsh F.A I'm sure that bit is correct.

Haverfordwest County are praying not to finish in the top 2 of the Welsh League as their chairman is widely reported to say that the club does not have the money to survive in the WPL.

One win in their last six games suggests either that their prayers are being answered or they are doing more than just praying to avoid promotion...Tongue

... and now two wins in a row and they're top!

By that we mean two teams in the Welsh League at the same time, two teams can share a Welsh League ground as long as both of them are not in the Welsh League Cool.

Yes. This happened around 3 years ago.

Cadoxton Barry were the main users at Jenner Park and in the SWSL top division and could have got promoted to the Welsh League which would have meant Barry Town being relegated. Ton and Gelli are the main team at Ynys Park and Ton Pentre would have been relegated if Ton and Gelli were promoted from the Amateur League.

This season Rhoose of the Amateur League use Jenner Park and will probably be in a playoff with Sully Sports. If they were unable to groundshare Sully would be promoted.

Heard in the week that Lliswerry have been cleared to use their current ground in WL if they win promotion. I'm sure Govilon would us an alternative ground for a season if they were to be promoted.

Lliswerry are champions of the Gwent County league following Tuesday's results.

Congratulations to Lliswerry. Enjoyed my visit there earlier this season.

At Bridgend last night and can confirm the merger is almost certain to go ahead.

Cwmamman United have applied for promotion and looks likely to finish second however as is usual with West Wales clubs they could change their mind

As they say its no use having a football club without the social side to help fund it,i hope the council are not in anyway swayed by whats gone on before thinking history might repeat itself and come to the right and proper decision and let the new club take over the place---thanks for the info gcnc.

Things are starting to move at Stebonheath Park. The newly formed Llanelli team are training there this evening. A young goalkeeper who had signed for another club now wants his forms torn up as he says he is going to play for Llanelli.

Watch this space.
