Its only a matter of time until our Courts are privatised and then it will all be Virgin on that side of the bar.

Surely you can take notes when your in a jury, and give some pieces of evidence more weight than others? It is not exactly difficult to do it to think 'x' is more important than 'y' because of 'z'

As far as I am aware you are not allowed to take notes.
There again it's some twenty years since I was on a juryShocked

You are allowed to take notes on a jury, that's certainly the case now anyway. You can also send notes to the Judge if there are things you don't understand (they don't tend to like this too much though).

Nothing would surprise me, give it a go sometime and let us know how you get on, or where you end up!

The last time I appeared in court, a selfie was a euphemism for knocking one out in the holding cell..... Unsure

Wonder what the odds are on being called up for jury service (providing one is eligible of courseSly)i got called up years ago but got out of it and they have not bothered me since.

I've done it 4 times in the past 10 or so years.

Four! What sort of cases and verdicts?

One High Court - causing death by dangerous driving. Case stopped at start of third day after defendant made front page of a Scottish daily for assaulting a reporter outside the court. He was re-tried and found guilty

Three Sheriff Courts - assault - not guilty, fire-raising - guilty, housebreaking - guilty

If you are called within 5 years (I think it is) you are not obliged to attend but I rather enjoy the experience.

If I ever get the call I want it to be a nice straightforward guilty or not guilty. And I'd have hated being on the Ched Evans jury.

Did your fellow jurors recognise your experience and make you Foreman? Assuming they have such a thing north of the border.

Back in the shovel for another six years after being convicted of murder but if this stay inside is as long as the last one then i'd say he has copped for a right good result.

Loved it when it was said this was his first offence.

Downhill now then !

July 1, 2019 to June 30,2020 = 35 / 30/ 5/ inc 2 x 0-0's. (You know my rules) @ 11 / 08 / 2019.
2019/20. Benelux = Bel = 0-0-0-(0-0-0)-(0-2-3-2)/ Lux = 0-3 / Neth = 0-0-0-(2 - 2) Others France = 0-0 / Germany =0-0-0 / Italy =0-3/ Iberia = P = 0-1 & S = 0-1.

I loved one wags comment on a comedy show on Channel 4.

"Now he's got used to walking without his blades on, all they need to do is put a cattle-grid round his prison. Escape problem solved !!"
