Happy Bunny Can't Post or Reply Privately

Today I finally managed to lay hands on the first three 'Playfair FA Non-League Football Albums', thus completing my set (for the third time, actually - I have had these 'Playfairs' thrice beforetimes, but twice they've 'disappeared under mysterious circumstances') - all the way through to the '2013 Non-League Yearbook'.

I am once more fulfilled!

Just saying.

Ha ha. I'm afraid it's not at all as titillating as it perhaps sounded!

The first set of Playfairs I owned were boxed 'in storage' with a friend while I worked on a lengthy contract down in Bristol.

Unfortunately, this friend died unexpectedly, quite soon after, and by the time I was informed about it and could make my way back to see her family (none of whom I'd ever previously met), all of her apparent goods & chattels (inc. the contents of my box) had been divvied-out between her many cousins, or had been disposed-of in a house-clearance.
The second set I owned simply must have accidentally gotten thrown-away (probably due to their small size) at some stage, during one of my ex-wife's occasional but regular spring-cleaning frenzies. I also 'lost' many other small items, attributable perhaps to these - my vintage sets of darts, which had been remodelled by hand for my personal use, at some expense - & almost all of my old darts medals and smaller trophies notable among them.

The 'mysteriousness' is reference basically, to my not knowing exactly of these books' final resting places - or at least, my not knowing where they next went.

Are you talking about the Playfair Football Annuals too? I have about the last eight years of those Tongue I might try and backdate it to the year of my birth or something to have a bit of a proper collection going.

I'm only referring to the three non-league Playfairs that were published.

After that, Rothmans took over, producing the now familiar-dimensioned yearbooks in their famous blue colours, but only published them for two seasons.
I think Tony Williams self-published thereafter, the next three with various cover designs and then settling for his fourth effort on the now traditional bright-red cover design.
