Aylesbury United Vs ????????

Windsor FC lodge appeal after Flackwell Heath semi-final defeat
Windsor FC look set to line up against Aylesbury in the Berks & Bucks Senior Trophy final despite losing their semi-final in dramatic fashion against Flackwell Heath last week.
The Heathens thought they had booked their spot in the final last Wednesday when an injury-time winner from Jon Case sealed a thrilling 3-2 win.

But the Advertiser has learned that the Heathens fielded an ineligible player during the game when they started with goalkeeper Craig Garrett.
The shot stopper has a dual registration with Harefield and he played for them against AFC Hayes in the Middlesex County Senior Cup on December 4.
That meant he was cup-tied from last Wednesday's semi-final but Flackwell were unaware of this and he played the whole 90 minutes at Stag Meadow.
Since then Windsor have lodged an appeal with the Berks & Bucks FA and depending on the outcome, they could be reinstated in the competition.
Boss Micky Woodham says the matter is out of his hands but he would be willing to replay the game if needed.
He said:"I know that there has been a protest lodged about their keeper and that he was cup-tied.
"From my point of view it was an honest admin error, where it goes from here I don't know.
"Morally I would like to offer them (Flackwell) a replay but we all know football is not steeped in moral history so I don't know what will happen.
"I would like an answer one way or the other by the end of the week, I think that's only fair to both sides."
The Windsor boss added:"If the Berks & Bucks FA say you are awarded the game then obviously we will take that.
"But if we can sort out a replay and we get the permission to do that, I'm sure we would.
"It would give us the chance to redeem ourselves and Flackwell a chance to rewrite a wrong.
"I'm a fair man, I would have no issue in playing the game again."

This one gets better. Apparently Windsor have also played a Cup-tied player. Jason Sheehan turned out as a sub for Chalfont St Peter in an earlier round.

My question now is regarding the Flackwell Keeper, whose only "offence " was turning out for Harefield Utd in the Middlesex Senior Cup. Have I been missing something about County Cups all this time I've been supporting Northwood, or is this specific to the Berks & Bucks FA?

Northwood, Threave Rovers, Arsenal, Rangers (the real ones, NOT qpr),Watford, Rochdale, queen of the south and a few others.

It is a hit and miss thing, the clubs have to point it out to the County F.A. and then they decide the fate of the club. It has happened in Oxfordshire from memory in one case a player had played previously in the Wilts Premier Cup and then in the Oxfordshire Senior Cup in that case the club was expelled. In another case a player played against his former club who he had already played for in the same competition but the county F.A. said they were not going to take any action. Another case a player played in a game for a club he had transferred to saying he had not played in the cup for his previous club, his previous club said he had but he refuted the fact but someone had photographic evidence that he had I think in that case the player was suspended for being a twat. In another case a club were beaten by a club from a lower division but noticed that 4 or 5 of the players had played against them in a previous round, when the teamsheets were checked there were no names that matched. A few months later the same players were playing Junior football and won a number of honours the local league in which it happened went with the club who protested about the players in the cup game with the evidence and proof that they were playing under false names. It turned out they were registered under 3 or 4 different names and in fact one was suspended the whole time. Of course by the time this all came put it was a bit late. In most Senior Cups there are a number of qualification rules about how long you must be signed on before the start of a round, it seems the higher you are up the Pyramid the less likely it is you are taken to task over this rule as I have seen games where trialists have played.

So the answer is yes / no / maybe Cool

The B&B eligibility rules also ban players who've played in the FA Trophy from playing in this competition.
That seems strange to me.

Probably because the B&B Trophy is only open to clubs who play at the Vase level. Guessing that the rule is in that season, as oppossed to ever, which would be senseless.

Yeah, but it means if they sign a player from a step 4 club they may not be able to play in this cup. I don't see the point in that.

Guess what..... Aylesbury United have had the cup taken away from them for fielding an ineligible player. One of them played in the FA Trophy for Aylesbury FC.

http://www.aylesburyunitedfc.co.uk/news/story/1934

Also, Finchampstead Reserves played an ineligible player in the B&B Junior Cup final so will be stripped of the trophy. One of their players had previously played for Chertsey Town in the Surrey Senior Cup.

Says player has played for two senior clubs in F.A.Cup, F.A.Trophy and Surrey SC.

All of which make him ineligible for cup.

Oakley say they had to drop 4 players for game under the same rule.

I don't know if it will go anywhere but there are a couple of B&B clubs local to me who were mentioning the possibility of getting the county FA to change their rules. I think I've already mentioned in this thread that Surrey FA doesn't have any of these eligibility rules. perhaps B&B should get into the modern age as their rules appear to be based in the 1890s when players were considered senior, junior, whatever and someone changing clubs still had the status of the higher club.

Something like this arose 15 or more years ago in Oxfordshire, a club who had thrashed a higher level club 4-0 were suddenly found to have breached a similar rule, the sec and manager of the club who had broken the rule got me to look into it. The sec of the club who had lost was a person with friends in the know. I found out that nearly every club in the competition had broken the same rule. The county F.A. said so what they only looked into it if a club appealed the rule and no one else had. About 48 hours later and a few phone calls threw the whole competition into chaos, as appeals were coming in left, right and centre. The tie was suddenly order to be replayed as a good will gesture, the game again ended 4-0 to the same side. And the rule was deleted / changed.

Around the same time after a very high level club for Oxfordshire had tried to claim OTT expenses against a smaller club the rule that the stated the traveling allowance that could be claimed by the away club could amount to the cost of 15 3rd class rail tickets, was also deleted from the county /cup rules.

Comments now appearing that Oakley have a side this season is filled with ex Hellenic and SML players and even the odd Southern League one. Round up in the local paper last night said they had beaten the leaders of the OSL Premier in a cup game last weekend. Some of the names are certainly players who have played at a much higher level. Last night I was at a North Berks game and again it was apparent that one of the sides had a team on par or better than some local step 5 sides. While chatting to a couple of chaps from Reading it seems the same is happening in the Reading League. One name was mentioned that earns quite a few shillings each week plying his trade at various levels of the Pyramid but him and his mates are quite often to be seen turning out in the Reading League midweek or for important games

Think Ascot also found to have broken rules, as there were only 17 clubs to start with and the chances are if the 4 semi finalists have broken the rule many of the others have. The first round was play in October and November so in theory all the clubs could have broken the rule, so the "winners" could have ended up being Abingdon Town who were knocked out in the preliminary round in September Cool
