1890 Clapton programme Can't Post or Reply Privately

I've recently come across this pre-league Clapton programme for a match played only 2 years after taking hold of the Old Spotted Dog. I'm curious to know what sort of value it has.

I've done a little research on-line, but can find little similar to compare.

I'd appreciate any help, Thanks!

Now that is a rare find...pre-Isthmian League Clapton programme
so off the top of my head, should fetch around 200-300.
But of course, it you put it up on ebay, put a reserve on the first
figure and if you get a bidding war between two or more peeps,
then who knows.
I'd knock one out on the strength of finding something that old.Sly

Thanks... exactly what I was looking for.

It's actually in the possession of a friend who found it amongst her deceased Grandfather's possessions and has no clue about football... she described it as a "nifty keepsake".

I must admit a stirring in my loins myself... I'm just wondering what advise to give. I suppose the most righteous thing would be to pass it on to the club itself... but does anyone still care for Clapton? They seem to be on a painfully drawn out spiral to oblivion.

To be honest, it could be safer, placed into the protection of the local council, who should have a Local History Library, or maybe Museum...but make it a loan, you never know what will get sold off in further cutbacks...

I just hope my two Dulwich play-off programmes
lurking somewhere in Chez Mishi don't get sold off
to help feed his Coke fetish?

Woweeeeeeeeee I am green with envy!

Please advise her not to donate it to the football club.......stuff just disappears..

If she needs the money, auction is obviously the answer, if not the local museum may be the right choice although even then some just put stuff in drawers and they never see the light of day.
If she has no interest in football, nor have her family, she should photograph it then advise the museum etc that she is going to auction it, if she wants to keep it please advise her how to protect it properly.

I think she's going to keep hold of it for now... auctioning is the most likely option.

Incidentally, it was found tucked inside a 1933 Arsenal programme with a rather wonderful old tube map printed on the back (see attachement)...

Yes, the station was renamed a couple of months before this programme was issued... I've sadly just looked up.
