What happens if you get through to R1 and have a home draw?

News also confirmed by Sutton Coldfield Town. Presumably 3G is still outlawed in the Proper rounds, so in our case we would ask Rushall nicely in the very unlikely event of surviving that far these days.

I would be disappointed,if they did that well!
Maidstone would of course be delighted,i had read somewhere that they would probably try to use some other ground.
Originally they were going to play home fa cup games at Maidstone Rd,Chatham.

It's a perfectly feasible scenario that Maidstone or Sutton Coldfield get through to R1 Proper with a home draw, and that after a rainy / frosty first half of November their alternative venue is unplayable, resulting in a postponement while the 3G pitch sits unused.

Massive foot in the door and I've not heard any noisy bad feedback yet. I would hope that the FA have observed games at Maidstone / Sutton Coldfield.

More 'in a galaxy far far away' thinking by the FA.

I've not been privvy to any of the latest artificial
offerings but they are, as far as I'm aware, light years
ahead of the shockers that graced QPR, Luton, Preston et al.

Were there many complaints when our pampered luvvies
played on said surface against Russia in the Euro 2008
qualifying match?

Maybe the 2-1 defeat induced the suits to crawl back into
their black hole...then again, McClaren was in charge... Mad

FA Vase semi programme wanted: 2001 Taunton v Clitheroe.

FA Trophy programmes wanted: 1969-70 Any round from first season. Have many but plenty of gaps still to fill.

It could be argued that Maidstone or Sutton Coldfield are more likely to reach the 1st round because of the 3G pitch.

If the FA have deemed 3Gs suitable for any stage of the cup then they should be allowed in all rounds.

Last ground visited(update requested by Spud): Wellington . New grounds 18/19: 38

All FA competitions allow 3Gs until the stage Football League teams join in now. In the Vase & Trophy they can be used in all rounds, in the Cup and Youth Cup it's the qualifying rounds only.
Makes you wonder if the Football League or its teams have lobbied the FA and requested they're not used for games they may be involved in.

Only 2 league sides have expressed any interest in getting one themselves:

There are currently two artificial pitches in use in Italy's Serie A (Cesena and Novara), two in France's Ligue 1 (Lorient and Nancy) and two in the Dutch Eredivisie (Heracles Almelo & Excelsior Rotterdam).

The majority of them did however vote in favour of allowing them in the football league. It was only league one and championship clubs who threw it out.

2 league, League 2... I know what you mean though!

http://www.maidstoneunited.co.uk/3g4us/ I would imagine this group will be continuing to lobby, and using the positive feeback from the League clubs who visited for PSFs (Brighton, Leyton Orient, Dagenham & Redbridge) as levers.

I wouldn't have thought there'd be a need for this sort of thing. I expect almost every league club trains on 3G/4G pitches regularly, if not all the time. I would also expect every non-league side would have one installed at the drop of a hat if they weren't so expensive to install and maintain.
