No.
Obviously they wouldn't be dumped at step 5, they'd probably be put in L2, or possibly L1. But there's more than two "big" clubs in England, and there's certainly no clauses in TV/sponsorship deals that would allow agreements to be ripped up because one team were in a lower division.
I'd like to think it might change attitudes to acruing club debt, but I'm not sure it would - no one ever thinks it'll happen to them.

Rangers will most likely start in Scottish Div One & be back in the SPL next year anyway so Utd having a season in the Championship wouldn't really harm anyone.

Juventus had one season in Serie 'B' & it didn't adversely affect either them or Italian Football & English football didn't grind to a halt when the self proclaimed biggest club in the world had several seasons in League One recently.

If the current Scottish situation is going to be compared with what happened in Italy we must have the facts correct. Juventus were demoted because of match fixing charges against senior club members NOT because they went broke, a completely different scenario. Whereas Fiorentina did go bust and the new club had to start at the 4th level of Italian football, so using that example "new Rangers" should start in SFL division 3. Incidentally Fiorentina are now back in the top Division.

Having been catapulted from level 4 directly to level 2 along the way due to a bizarre decision resulting from increasing the size of Serie B from 20 to 24 clubs. Before it soon went back down to 22, after Fiorentina had benefitted.

I accept that fact, the point i was trying to make was that the Fiorentina situation was more pertinent to the Rangers situation than the Juventus example.

Not quite such a drastic situation but back in 1968 Manchester United and Port Vale were hit for Illegal Payments (If memory serves me correct), Similar charges but Manchester United were fined whilst Port Vale were expelled from the League (Voted back in at the end of the season), One rule for the rich One for the poor but no longer in Scotland it seems. Crazy

I doubt whether the Premier League/FA would be brave enough to take on the one of the big/monied clubs, knowing that the "offenders" would have the readies to hire the sort of lawyers that can prove that black is white, that rain is dry and that someone driving on a motorway hard shoulder is rushing to a loo. Crazy

And having won in court, then lumber Premier League/FA with their costs as well. Shocked

Whilst Man Utds finances arent exactly great, its mostly as I understand it to do with the Loan that the Glazers took out to buy the Club.

I think the Club on a Business level is hugely profitable and the payment of Players etc is all totally above board. There were huge questions over the Rangers business model, which are now part of a fraud inquiry. So I think the situation is a little different. Not least because someone else would be much more likely to invest in the Man Utd due to its massive income stream.

Leeds Utd remain the closest approximation, but their demise occurred before the FA made their "Rules"....Leeds did take a bit of a pounding but I think mostly due to points deductions if I am right?

Unlike the SPL, the Premiership is bigger than any one Club like someone says above.

I cant see them being liquidated, so in a CVA event I think they'd be relegated a couple of levels (whats the FA Rule on that in terms of levels to drop?), but I think there would be some sort of fudge.

Can't see the other 19 clubs would vote them back in as they get a guaranteed minimum number of games televised anyway and most away allocations sell out anyway (bar Fulham, Wigan etc). The repercussions would be massive though.

If it did happen, then Manchester City may well be top until somebody even richer came along and bought one of the other teams, who then buy all the mercenaries prepared to move for an extra �50k per week.
