Sutton Athletic - new ground Can't Post or Reply Privately

There are two new grounds in Kent ready for visits! Maidstone Utd's is well known but hoppers may be interested to ehar that Sutton Athletic of the Kent Invicta League will be playing at a new ground in Lower Road, Hextable this season.

The first game there is August 4th, a friendly againstr Hythe... http://www.kentleagueforum.com/...c.php?f=5&t=2070

I called in on Friday. The ground used to be home to a local youth team Swanley Standard and more recently a Saturday mens' team who apparently were not good at paying their rent.

The clubhouse has been renovated to a high standard and the newly-laid pitch is surrounded by a rail, with hard standing about to be completed. There are plans for a stand on the far side which has a bank from which spectators will get a good view.

All in all a good new ground, potential for floodlights as well. Best news is there are no plans for one of those rotten numpty stands!

According to their website, they have a home game against Metrogas on 17th July at Lower Road. I have to say I'd rather believe the kent league forum that this game is at Dartford 3G....

Rye United's website has moved to http://www.ryeutd.com

And another!

Kennington of the Kent County League will move from their traditional cricket ground home to the Julie Rose Stadium. This is a decent athletic stadium but has a running track around it. It is just north of the M20 very close to Kennington itself.

I hope the wont be renaming the team as seems the fashion in Kent these days!
